    I used to be trapped in the branded freshener eco chain, and tried refilling with my own oils, but this only had limited success. I moved to candles with the associated expense. I now easily make my own reed diffusers, with about £23 initial outlay for 4, but can now choose my own scent. I find them more effective and a whole lot cheaper;

    4 Bottles £10.50 amazon.co.uk/Ess…2YP
    120 Reeds £5 amazon.co.uk/Zif…D96
    100ml Oil £8 amazon.co.uk/sto…2F9

    Each bottle needs 4/6 reeds, so 120 reeds will last many years. The above links are examples of what I bought, but other brands are as good. If you need something neutral and guest friendly, try "clean cotton".

    Does anyone know if this works with all bottles of essential oil? Or is it only the branded bottles that works?
    LegoLolly's avatar
    Because of the way it clips in only use the branded bottles....BUT...I just unscrew the top of the branded bottle and fill it with my own essential oils (not too thick)...sshh don't tell anyone...lol

    Our favourite is the bergamot and lime fragrance - we were lucky enough to trial the scents as part of a producing testing company before they were released to stores some years ago.

    I'm curios how this produces the smoke, does it heat it up?

    The reason I ask, is because I have an expensive version of these which uses ultrasonic tech to create the mist. Cost me around £60. With that one, it sucks up the oil via a tube. With this, it seems like it heats the top of the wick?
