As peeps have stated, the BATTERY is a massive issue on these old iPhones. Internal software tricks that you cannot bypass make the battery unreliable once it drops to around 60% visible charge. This is by design, to 'help' 'encourage' owners to upgrade, but sadly ruins one aspect of these old phones.

With a battery case. one can bypass the issue- any trickle charge entering the phone deactivates the battery 'fault', and allows the phone to work reliably with a much lower visible charge. And remember, this is NOT a reference to battery 'quality'- that can show 80%+ good and still have the issue (or as has been said the battery can even be replaced- doesn't matter- it's a firmware trick, and you cannot prevent the phone knowing how old it is since the firmware pulls the trick after the phone reaches a certain age).

Exactly. After the comments here I was wondering whether i made the right choice and was going to send it back if it was bashed up but it's immaculate front and back. I thought they would have graded this as "Like New"! Ideal for my daughter for her audiobooks and music.
    Thanks OP

My iPhone 6s lasted me five years, however from the very start it suffered from the cold weather battery issue. Even after getting a free battery replacement from Apple (which all 6s phones were entitled to) it still happened.

It’s super cheap but be aware battery life / performance might be poor especially in the winter. (edited)

These won't run the latest iOS so if you have a newer iPhone and want to load your backup on this you won't be able too.

This combined with a Bose Sounddock 3 or XT makes this combination the best garage, kitchen or bedside speaker. You only meed power and internet. You can find a Bose Sounddock XT or 3 around 40£ on eBay. (previously models have 30 pin port not lighting).

While the iPhone 6s may have been a groundbreaking device when it was first released, it's important to consider that the smartphone market has evolved significantly since then. While it may seem like a good deal at first glance, I strongly believe there are better alternatives available today that offer more value for your money. Let's explore the reasons why the iPhone 6s, despite its past glory, may not be the best choice in the current smartphone landscape.

    -Outdated Design and Display:
One of the first things you'll notice about the iPhone 6s is its dated design. Compared to modern smartphones with slim bezels, edge-to-edge displays, and sleek aesthetics, the iPhone 6s appears bulky and lacks the visual appeal that many users seek. Additionally, its smaller display size and lower resolution make it less suitable for media consumption, gaming, and browsing compared to newer devices.
    -Performance Limitations:
The iPhone 6s, while once considered a powerful device, struggles to keep up with the demands of modern apps and features. As technology advances, app developers optimize their software for newer devices, leaving the iPhone 6s at a disadvantage. This can result in slower performance, increased lag, and limited compatibility with the latest software updates. Investing in a more recent model would ensure a smoother and more enjoyable user experience.
    -Limited Battery Life:
Battery life is a crucial consideration for any smartphone user. Unfortunately, the iPhone 6s falls short in this aspect. Due to its aging battery technology and the power requirements of current apps and services, the iPhone 6s may not last throughout the day with moderate to heavy usage. Opting for a newer model would provide you with longer battery life and the convenience of fast charging and wireless charging capabilities.
    -Camera Quality:
If photography is a priority for you, the iPhone 6s may not meet your expectations. While it was impressive in its time, its camera performance has been surpassed by newer smartphone models. More recent devices offer advanced camera features, improved low-light capabilities, and higher megapixel counts, allowing you to capture stunning photos and videos with greater detail and clarity.
    -Limited Storage Capacity:
The iPhone 6s was introduced at a time when cloud storage was not as prevalent as it is today. With its limited storage options, you may quickly find yourself running out of space for apps, photos, and videos. Investing in a more recent device with larger storage capacities or expandable storage options will provide you with ample room for all your files and media.
    -Conclusion:
While the iPhone 6s may still have some redeeming qualities, it's important to consider the drawbacks that come with an aging device. In today's fast-paced smartphone market, there are numerous alternatives that offer better design, improved performance, longer battery life, enhanced camera capabilities, and more storage options. By investing in a more recent model, you'll ensure a more future-proof device that will meet your needs for a longer period. Ultimately, it's wise to explore the vast array of options available to make an informed decision that aligns with your requirements and provides the best value for your money.

Good deal just a shame Apple are a horrible evil company who have warped peoples minds to spend £1k on a phone every year. Horrible company and wish people would wake up and snap out of the Trend FOMO they produce in peoples heads. I had very bad experience with Apple just my point of view but never again! Power to the people, right to repair and not have a monopoly on how they can fix their phones and charge for.

It's better than the iPhone 6 it replaced which is now completely end of life.

This , the 7 and the SE 2016 should be good for at least a year, maybe two but it will do for a relative who needs a mobile that's secure and iMessage, facetime and WhatsApp works on.

Add in 4g voice and WiFi calling and as a phone it's pretty up to date compared to any android from the same year.

6s is still a solid phone IMO. Only problem is when all the apps update to be incompatible with it's operating system.

planned obsolescence is a wonderful thing........

I think the iPhone 6s maxed out at iOS15 (same as iPhone 7), though not sure how fast it might run on iOS15.
I have a (backup) iPhone 6 which maxed out at iOS12 (but runs fine) so I imagine 6s with iOS15 should be a decent step up at this price point.

I've got an old iPhone 6s - yes, it still works, but even with a battery health of 92% it only gets about an hour of use before it needs charging again! Just putting the latest security update on the other day dropped the batter from 90% to 45%, even though it was on charge.

Not a 6s but got the iPhone 11 from them ,£279 for 128gb. There is a small scratch on the screen. Would you say this is acceptable or could you get better for that money?
