Great price - rarely gets so low

    If you need a motherboard - hotukdeals.com/dea…827

Budget cooler (will throttle in benchmarks, but will run full speed in games if you have a well ventilated case) - amazon.co.uk/ID-…2V/

One thing to consider is gen 14 is a few months away, prices will trend downwards

Got this when it was £279.99 a few month ago. Weirdly never turned up so thought it was a Amazon thing "we mispriced or oversold and therefore will 'mark as delivered'" And then it turns up a week ago! Outerbox opened though. They had already sent me the replacement. Need to get around to sending it back.

Anyway, this hit 100c with CoolerMaster ML280 AIO and MX-4. Then I added a contact frame, 78c! Then I reseated the AIO and added thermal paste that came with contact frame and now 74c! And mild overclock to 5.2/4.0. Amazing CPU, the work mac m1 is no match, truly amazing performance.

This may have also been due to the power settings on the motherboard. Mine was also hitting over 99c in benchmarks and 90c in games until I realised my MSI motherboard settings were sending it way more voltage than intels spec and recommendations. Once that was tweaked, also put on a manual overclock and its been 5.4ghz stable for a few months now and never hits above 80c while gaming, mostly low 70s.

Would be even better with a contact frame (edited)

Ouch! I bought it 3 months ago for £260, but my Mini PC couldn't cool it above 125W so I downgraded to 12400F. Beast of a chip though

Not bought a CPU for years. Do they not come with heatsink & fan anymore?
