sorted byBy a very long margin the slowest and worst UK network for data. I'm surprised they haven't merged with a proper mobile network yet.
However if it does it'll affect your credit score. I was gonna join Virgin on a rolling contract and they did a hard check that reduced my good credit score by 75 points! Not worth it for £10.
There are plenty about now that don't do credit checks. I am now with Lebara(Vodafone) for 1.99/pm for 3 months and £9 thereafter for 20gb 1 month rolling.
So far it's been great and an improvement over O2.

Perfect on my end.
O2 doesn't even seem to work in Bristol and there's not much 5G in Edinburgh and there's just not enough 5G coverage in general, plus bandwidth on 4G seems fixed at around 24-40 mbps.
I'm not happy about annual price increases if you keep a contract running with them, it's predatory. Three/Smarty/ID monthly SIMs with no increases and more than their map suggests 5G coverage at 600mbps all the way.
Get a 5G router and an unlimited SIM from one of the above and you won't need O2 or Virgin as ISP will finally be "last hop" wireless.

I'm currently on a 12-month sim-only plan with o2 that has Volt already applied in August 2022.
I have some questions:
Does this deal work for existing o2 customers that are currently on a contract?
Will my existing Volt bolt-on on o2 remain?
Will I still be affected by the RPI price rise of April 2024? (edited)
