AX3000 Dual Band WiFi 6 (802.11ax) Router supporting MU-MIMO and OFDMA technology, with AiProtection Pro network security powered by Trend Micro, compatible with ASUS AiMesh WiFi system

Next-Gen Wi-Fi Standard - Supporting the latest Wi-Fi standard 802.11AX (Wi-Fi 6) and 160MHz bandwidth for better capacity and efficiency.
Increase Capacity and Efficiency – Supporting not only MU-MIMO but also OFDMA technique to efficiently allocate channels, communicate with multiple devices simultaneously
Commercial-grade Security - lifetime free AiProtection, powered by Trend Micro, blocks internet security threats for all your connected smart devices.

Next-Gen WiFi Speed
RT-AX58U is a 2x2 dual-band Wi-Fi router that provides 160MHz bandwidth and 1024-QAM for dramatically faster wireless connections. With a total networking speed of about 3000Mbps — 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band — RT-AX58U is 2.5X faster than 802.11ac 2x2 dual-band routers.

Built for Multi-device Households
With a revolutionary combination of OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology, 802.11ax technology provides up to 4X greater network capacity and efficiency in traffic-dense environments. Previous-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi can only handle one device at a time on each network channel, which is an inefficient use of available bandwidth. OFDMA support in the 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard divides each channel into small sub-channels, allowing signals from multiple devices to be bundled together and transmitted simultaneously, reducing latency for a smoother, more responsive Wi-Fi experience.

Better Battery Life for Your Devices
Target Wake Time (TWT) allows RT-AX58U to schedule designated intervals for devices to transmit data. This allows them to sleep when there is no need to wait for a router signal, reducing power consumption by up to 7X for significantly improved battery life.

Wi-Fi that Goes Farther
With the latest 802.11ax WiFi standard featuring OFDMA technology, RT-AX58U provides increased Wi-Fi signal range and better coverage by dividing each channel into smaller sub-channels. These sub-channels have a smaller bandwidth that enables them to travel up to 80% farther, resulting in a better Wi-Fi connection throughout your home.

Commercial-grade Security for your Home Network
RT-AX58U has lifetime free AiProtection Pro, powered by Trend Micro with automatic, regularly updated security signatures to protect your devices and personal data from internet threats. This strong security offers advanced parental controls, including the ability to block specific websites and mobile app types.

The Latest WPA3 Network Security
The next generation of Wi-Fi security, bringing new capabilities to enhance Wi-Fi protections in personal and enterprise networks. Building on the widespread adoption of WPA2 over more than a decade, WPA3 adds new features to simplify Wi-Fi security, enable more robust authentication, and deliver increased cryptographic strength for highly sensitive data markets.

Just a note for anyone wanting to run custom Asus Merlin firmware. It is not supported on the v2 of this router. Still a good router non the less. I picked one up for family a few weeks ago and have a couple myself.

Are you sure about that? The TUF-AX3000 V2 has a 2.5Gb WAN port and link aggregation on the 1Gb ports (and is still cheaper)

Hi is anybody could recommend good router for 150 square meters house and lots equipment plug in and definitely for online gaming it’s fibre optic 70mb max and my area
    MicroManaged's avatar
70mbps isn't "fibre optic". It will be FTTC and then copper from the cabinet to the house.

150m2 isn't that large and a well placed router should see wifi all over. Can't beat an ethernet connection though so I would always recommend getting cables to the key kit you want high bandwidth and low latency. Altertatively, you could try powerline adapters if the wiring in the house is good.

Just had one of these brick itself after asus messed up a security patch last week. I'll not be buying asus again

The latest firmware for these is .388

Any router running .388 wasn't affected by the ASD update Asus pushed.

Sounds like you didn't update the firmware after setup. Good luck finding any consumer routers better than Asus. (edited)

ASUS TUF Gaming AX3000 V2 is cheaper on Amazon at £104.99. Specs are pretty much identical but think the AX3000 has more RAM

bit annoying you can't put them stand vertically... would like to minimise space it takes on TV stand (edited)
    Berwhale's avatar
It is mountable vertically on a couple of screws. So could be attached to the back of the unit or on a wall.
