    You would use these in a commercial environment or as part of an internal network for file transfer etc. These aren't for downloading stuff from outside your home network. (edited)

    I have just bought a NAS which has two 2.5gbe ports but my modem is Vodafone with four 1gbe ports. My download and upload is 500 Mbps. Will this switch be of any use to me?

    Not really unless you have laptops or desktops with 2.5Gbe NICs that you want to upload/download massive files to the NAS at very high speed.
