I don't know anything about the drill/driver deal but I do know CPC Farnell is a good company to deal with.

they been going years - when I studied to be a satellite engineer over 35 years ago we used to buy parts from them.

I want to make a side garden gate, so is the impact driver the tool you would use to drive in the screws? Sorry, I'm not sure exactly what an impact driver does? How powerful are these two tools and what sort of materials could they be used on? Thank you.

So yes, the impact driver is used for the screws. It's basically an electric screwdriver with the ability to "hammer rotate screws" so it's much more powerful.

This tool kit is quite basic, plastic construction and brushed motor, for DIY work any lithium powered drill kit should be just fine. (£50 for a combi kit is honestly a dirt cheap bargain, almost too cheap. I wouldn't rely on it lasting years, but it sounds like for you with barely occasional use, should do just fine.)

I decided to order this deal and for occasional use it should be alright. I've also gone and ordered (the last one in stock) an 18V Li-Ion Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool - Bare Unit - D03220 (cpc.farnell.com/dur…690). As this is a bare unit, would the charger and battery that come with the 18V 2 x 2Ah drill and impact driver kit (deal above), be alright to use for this multi-tool? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Ye it should do as they use the same batteries universally across their cordless tools

Am I right in thinking that I need a straight shank drill set for the combi drill and hex shank screw bits for the impact driver, so two different sets? If so, does anybody have any suggestions for a set priced up to about £20-£24 that would contain both of these types? Thank you.

I just bought this set yesterday heard it was good and it's well discounted at the moment and has more or less everything you need. Bosch 50-Pieces X-Line Titanium Drill and Screwdriver Bit Set (for Wood, Masonry and Metal, Accessories Drills) amzn.eu/d/i…ITT

wonder if these are made by the same company that makes Einhell as they look so much alike!

I thought they looked similar too and was hoping they might be compatible. Unfortunately side by side I think they have just copied the colours etc. I'm fairly sure the batteries won't fit each other.
  8. AgentBartonBones's avatar
not really comparable, this has the better battery of 2amps compared to the other being 1.5amp. Doesn't seem a great deal difference, but any one on site would always go for more power.

I will miss on this as I already have tools. The featured kit would be fine for diy type folks No one would want it for daily professional use.

Would this be suitable to install a wall TV mount on a dot and dab wall? Can you sure the drill as a screwdriver for lighter jobs where the impact would be overkill?

I just moved house and I'm looking into buying my first drill set for light dyi , this seems like a good deal.
