I don't usually comment on here. But saw this offer and the name Red Rock and had to sign in to say STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER!

Never had I had such a bad experience from something so simple.
    1. It is not "Never Used". Their products are all well used. Just look into the HDMI ports for example to see how old they are.
    2. They are reselling them from the US, they are not UK products
    3. They do not come with accessories (plug)
    4. They come loosely packed and the sellers call this OEM packaging - it is bubble wrap and cellotape and put into a bag for posting.
    5. They are beyond rude. When I asked for a refund and pointed out it was used, no plug was included etc, they accused me of being wrong quite aggressively. Felt like taking to a private seller, not a respectable company.

They should be removed from eBay, they should be banned from HUKD; HUKD are supposedly very strict about who they let deals be posted from, so I am unsure why a seller who consistently sells misrepresented products (as new when not) are allowed.

Please give your money to someone else, or buy new and enjoy a brand new, unused item WITH the proper accessories (plug & batteries) you are meant to get. Do not buy from these and get a 2nd hand, used, US version with no extras - it is not a good deal.

In fairness over the last few years I've considered buying Chromecast's from Red Rock. I've never been under the illusion that they sell US stock and refurb items (I've always found the information in their listings).

The only reason I have not bought from them is because I know CWGTV is quite fussy about the power supply it uses, to risk a third party power supply is false economy.

There's no excuse for sellers to be rude though. I guess a lot of eBay sellers are small businesses, some lack polish. On the flip side some customers are a liability.

Reviews are mixed. It doesn't come with UK plug. I ordered one because I need it.
I'll leave a review once I get it.

I've bought from these a few times without any problems - they state if items are USA spec and send you a power adaptor.

Has anyone have problem with their Chromecast TV not turning on sometime. At least once a week I'm having to cut power just for it to reboot Tried factory reset and still happens. Its over a year old, could it just be a faulty hardware?

Nothing like this with mine. Sounds like a fault.

I still Chromecast things to my TV on my Nvidia shield but your right, not much point of getting the standalone Chromecast devices.

While I do prefer Android TV to Amazon's, it is too slow on these. Considering you can get Amazon's top one at this price a lot of times a year, I would go for that over this.

The Nvidia Shield however is fantastic, different price range though

Bought from this seller last time as well. This isn't new open boxed. The item is definitely used. Doesn't come with a power adapter plug and the instructions were for the non-4K version which tells you to use the USB cable plugged into the TV for power which won't work as the power adapter is needed for the 4K version.

The seller's description has clearly labelled that the item won't come with a power adapter, but because it's also labelled as "New - Open Box" it caused a lot of confusion as to why it didn't come with one. I've also heard that doing returns with this seller is a pain as well.

That said, mine has been working fine for a few months now with no complaints. I've enabled "Apps-only mode" and installed SmartTubeNext as per these instructions: github.com/yul…ext which improved the experience a lot. I'd recommend anyone who has one of these to do the same. (edited)

I'm currently having problems with this company. My device worked for about 3 months but then developed a fault. Their listing clearly says '12 months warranty' but they are refusing to honour this as the unit is over 3 months old. They fob me off with 'take it up with Google' and won't replace or refund. I've told them UK sales regs require them to cover the warranty as my deal is with them. They haven't responded. Looks like I'll have to ask eBay to intervene. I won't use them again.

A good place to start is probably to decide if you are claiming under warranty (a contractual obligation over and above your consumer rights, normally with the manufacturer) or your consumer rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

In this case approaching Google may be quicker and less hassle, given that your short term right to reject has lapsed, and red rock may just replace it for another used item.
