sorted byAlso if you're going to be cleaning your carpets what Bissell don't tell you is that damp carpets smell, so adding a deodoriser and anti fungal to the tank can not only make them smell nice, but also prevent mould and mildew growth.
Also pre treating stains prior to using the machine is much more effective than just going over a stain with the machine. In fact you don't even need to use detergents in the rinse tank if you do it that way.

The only carpet type that give off any smells are wet wool carpets..
If your carpet smells after cleaning it
you have definitely over-wet it so user error
And because the machine is so underpowered it won’t be able to extract enough water back up..
Which will inevitably leave the carpets damp and eventually smelly through to the underlay.. (edited)
