I managed to get an order in.

Now I need to figure out what I've bought. Is it worth it? I know it seems to be 50% off but does this new price bring it more in line with its value or is it a legit £3k machine?

It was never worth £3000 with a 3070Ti in it, but the screen and everything else do push up the value a lot. Very good deal if the trade in requirements weren't stringent.

Really not worth it, underpowered 70 ti, not the HX chip older one less cores, cache etc... I'd say around £1k for this would be a good price now, screen makes up for it a bit but not really worth it, not a 99hw battery and no support for higher rated ddr5 sadly...

The build quality, thinness etc., and 3 year premium warranty are some reasons why it is so expensive

For anyone who purchased this, I highly recommend purchasing an additional 32GB of RAM which matches the existing module, or buy 2 x 16GB RAM modules. Not for the additional memory per say, but for the ability to run the RAM in dual channel mode which will boost the performance significantly.
