The 12GB RAM / 256GB in White is £299 with this code (just tested it).

Orderd this phone last week. Received and happy with it esp for price paid. If it helps anyone, got 2x screen protector and 1x phone cover all for grand total of 5.99 from here.
    Wammer's avatar
Someone mentioned that it comes with a good screen protector. I don't know how to tell a good one from a bad. Can I ask why you bought replacement screen protector?

Description says you don't need to active SIM or cancel the sim? (edited)
    jujuzeez's avatar
u dont have to activate on arrival, u can cancel within 14 days. not worded properly.

think u can even cancel before the phone arrives itself. nt sure tho.

I'm really unhappy with my pixel 6 atm. Is this in anyway better? My phone has constant issues going from app to app, camera crashes etc..
    jujuzeez's avatar
this feels like a replica of stock android on pixel 6. ngl google sticking with a custom-made exynos SoC doesnt look good, battery life will suffer over the years, apps will lag, overall phone performance will slow down. Nothing (1) is light years better, even with a midrange snapdragon chip. carl, ceo of nothing is a renowned OEM juggernaut (from OnePlus). i can always vouch for his products. (edited)

The DXOMARK review of the camera shows a poor performer in the camera department.

Out of curiosity I just read this and think it sounds quite reasonable, maybe above average.

Hi how do i cancel the sim?
    SteadyEddieGeorge's avatar
As points out in another post, there's lots of informed discussion on how to cancel the airtime contract in this previous HUKD deal thread:

In particular see the 2 June post from here:

Anybody got one and can offer a review on the brand in general? Would tend to trust this site more than others.
Are they gimmicky? Value for money against better known brands?
    Cammio's avatar
I got mine on Monday and so far I cannot fault it. The screen is excellent, runs everything very smoothly, camera takes clear pictures.

The only slight negative is the battery life isn't as strong as some others, but for me I'm always by my desk so topping up charge isn't a problem and it does 50% in around half an hour anyway.

At this price point thought I would say it's hard beaten

Will cancelling the sim affect my credit score?
There is no mention of this being an o2 refresh deal.

    TIA

    Yep!

Well that what has been said numerous times. (edited)

Silly question but does this come sim locked to O2 or is that no longer a thing?
    jujuzeez's avatar
    no. not locked

According to numerous YouTube videos this phone has built in call recording, mine doesn’t. Not a deal breaker and not bought for this specific purpose but could be useful. I didn’t check for this before downloading the Android 13 update so I don’t know if it was present on the original OS, is anyone able to check? Nothing support seem to think I should have it so I’m a little confused. Thanks

Try this but I am not sure it is working on Android 13 anymore. Worth a shot:

    jujuzeez's avatar
buy this, the only big difference btw this and 2 is Snapdragon 8 gen 1 SoC. everything else stays the same and 256gb storage option might cost nearly 700 quid when they launch.

Received the 256gb version in black yesterday. Updated to Android 13 and migrated all my data from my old phone.

First thing to note is that this phone seems very small compared to my old Huawei Mate 20x, (understandably so seeing as over 1/2" difference inscreen size). Also, with its sharper edges, not as comfortable to hold either despite being smaller. Early days but, aside from that, the phone seems decent enough so far.

Called up customer services today and cancelled the airtime aspect (didn't even use the O2 SIM) and got an immediate email confirming cancellation.

I had it face up on the counter charging and my 20-year-old daughter came in and said "Did you get a new iPhone". So yes, the design cues, especially the front and sides, are clear.

One tiny detail I do really like is the small text on the back indicating phone HQ is in London, England. Seems very patriotic somehow (even if it is made in China). (edited)

My purchase has just failed. When I clicked to confirm it said, "Unable to continue", but that it was not necesssarily due to credit scoring.

My credit rating has always been excellent, I've lived at the same address and been with the same bank for 35 years, have no debt and yet, "for our business policies" I, "didn’t meet the minimum level".

Has anyone else had a problem trying to buy from O2? (edited)

Same experience, ever since I did one of these cancel / keep phone deals, they blacklisted me. This goes back like 5 years ago. I recently tried again 2x with the Nothing deal from last week, I just say F'em now.

I have this phone and this is a fantastic price for it. Just remember this is not a top tier or flagship, it will always under perform against others, it's mid tier and a solid mid tier.
    Deal_searcher's avatar
Depends on what you do. The pixel 6 I have is not the top tier flagship but I find it fantastic. Quick enough for everything I do
  17. erjin999's avatar

    Wasn't that the 128gb version?

Thanks for your input. Following the instructions in your link is what got me here, the call recording option in the dialler doesn’t exist on my phone (now Android 13). It looks to me like it’s been removed from the new OS so I was hoping that someone who hasn’t updated yet could check if it exists in the OS as supplied. As I said it’s not a deal breaker, just curious as to whether this is possibly region specific?
    leondas's avatar
No, it is according to Google unfortunately. With Android 13 privacy settings have been changed for good so there is no more default support for call rec. GDPR.
Anyway there are 3rd party apps which can help you. But most of the times difficult to set up correctly and is not guaranteed that the next update will not disable it by Google.

Alternaltively if your call is put on speaker you can try to record it with built-in voice recording app. Not as sofisticated as direst call recording but better than nothing. But I never tried this just came to mind. (edited)

Brand new nothing phone with 12gb ram or refurbished xperia 1 iv?
  27. TamMcG's avatar
Noone has asked the big question yet, so I will.

Is this a good enough replacement for a P20 Pro?
I absolutely love my P20 Pro but it's starting to lag massively, one of the camera lens has cracked and the charge port is loosening. Could really do with the higher storage aswell (256gb). (edited)
    leondas's avatar
It is excellent for a replacement. But if you love Huawei UI go for Honor 70! Basically the same spec, screenwise Honor is bigger and has real fast charging but with no wireless charging and lightning rear panel. Other than that the same. (edited)

I believe there is no charger supplied with this phone. I'd appreciate any suggestions of what I need to look for in a charger. Thanks

The phone comes with the cable, so most 45w applicable plugs should be gold 🪙

Will never buy a phone from o2 ever again. Thank god I paid with Paypal, I bought a pixel 7 and returned it within 14 days, it's now been a month since they have my return, I had to claim through Paypal and got my money back this morning. I've reported them to Ofcom and will be contacting the Ombudsman within a few weeks because I highly doubt they will reply to my complaint.
