Crikey ! you must like pizza for that price even with the discount.

im not knocking the deal but apart from the multi fuel what makes this £460 odd better than the one lidl are currently doing for £79 (solid fuel only) , not trolling , genuinely interested.

I own this model, although I've only used with wood. I think I paid slightly more than this. I'd agree that its expensive for what it is, but it is very good. I've not experienced the inexpensive models but a neighbour bought an aldi or lidl one and was unimpressed with it (this was a year ago, the current lidl model may be better).

You ideally want some thermal mass and an insulated wall above the pizza in addition to the stone. The digital thermometer on the ooni makes it very easy to maintain the correct heat and the pizzas cook in 50-70 seconds at around 500C.

I'm not suggesting it'd be impossible to achieve the same on an £80 model, but it is easy to get consistent results in the ooni.

My other comment would be size- this ooni can make up to 16" pizzas whereas their smaller model takes up to 12" like the Lidl one you reference. I think the majority of pizzas we've made with ours would actually fit in the 12" ovens, so may be worth considering whether you need the larger oven. Its easier to work with because you have more space in the larger oven to turn them, but you sacrifice portability and pay significantly more for it.

If you don't get a model with an inbuilt digital thermometer, I'd recommend getting a of those infrared types.

For this brand and model it’s a good price but the ignorant will vote cold just because they can get a totally different brand cheaper. It’s like saying I wouldn’t buy a £50k Jaguar reduced to £30k because my Kia or Citroen can do the same job. Voted hot

No, you're wrong. The wise and sensible ones will vote cold, and the ignorant will go and buy that oven. (edited)

For what it's worth, was in a local garden centre last week and the company 'Lakeland' offered to price match this + drop a further 10%

Taking it down to £503 odd

Yes still v expensive, but great bit if kit and don't think cheaper than that anywhere else
