this tool is very, very DIY. We have it and(used new) it can't even strip old flakey paint off a lambing shed single door, painted years ago. The triangular sand pads detach quickly in use.........not worth the space in any tool store, is my honest opinion. It was also out performed by a green 12v Bosch at sanding which was used to finish the task....after a Bosch 150mm pro corded orbital sander was set loose.(there is a real tool) True........Good price though Op....heat for that. Powertoolmate are a very good business to deal with too........ (edited)

That's nonsense , I work on site , have had one for years , it takes loads of abuse at cutting every single day . Just keeps going.
I've also used it to sand back a whole scaffold board at home , it did a good job.
If you used the sanding pads supplied in that kit , then that's your problem , they are rubbish , buy some others and give it a try

Very good deal if anyone wants to go for the next model with 3 soeed, less hand vibration and a bright light which will be a huge help. With same code it will be around £125

AND a fantastic tool. It accurately cut through an in-place thick chunky kitchen worktop (we needed to shorten) like a HOT knife through butter.

Can this be used to cut a channel through a brick wall for wiring… need to do a one off job at home and dont want to invest in a proper channel cutting tool just for one use

Yes, my electricians were using this to chase wires in upstairs rooms as it was easier, less messy than a proper chasing tool. Just make sure to mark your chases beforehand and also decide the depth. (edited)
