    I found an amiga 500 cartoon classics, still in the box in my dad's loft. I thought it had been binned years ago.

    If it's a A500 plus? Get it out asap and see if the onboard varta rechargeable battery has leaked. If not remove it asap.

    It's worth as much now, as it was new or even more (check ebay for prices), depending on condition and completeness!

    You can easily get it recapped or get any spares or upgrades for it, many, many new things available. You'd be surprised what's been developed for it, if you don't follow vintage and retro stuff.

    PLEASE DO NOT, under any circumstances throw it away. It's worth quite a lot of money, even if it's stopped working for repair or spares.

    The graphics aren’t up to modern standards, but the gameplay never loses it’s shine. Still use my Amiga 1200, and can still lose hours engrossed in a game.

    Got one last time round the £100 mark, you need to add some collection or other who's name escapes me but it's basically about 30Gb of games and demos and even applications that you put on a memory card.

    Different times but you realise how rubbish 95% of games were, I guess a bit like people playing APK's will say in the 2050's.

    Standout ones still worth a play are the Bitmap Brothers ones, Team 17, Psgnosis, Cinemaware etc. But it's good to watch the demos where they go on about 4000 surfaces fitting into 16K of code .

    Oh n it supports Xbox 360 wired controllers and I believe wireless via the usb adapter for two player goodness.

    Just brought my Amiga 500 down from the loft with the expansion. Plugged it in and it still works. Played Captain America, Spy Hunter and Swiv. Swiv was amazing. 😁👌

    Great price but... The keyboard doesn't work. You need to plug in a USB keyboard. Basically an emulator in a piece of plastic 😯

    A lot of the chips in the Amiga were given female names - as when they were producing them, they were doing their best to keep it all top secret by seemingly talking about different women rather than chip tech.
