My son has one of these and it's really good, outlasting most of the cheaper headsets he's got through, but a couple of months ago he put it on and the mic boom part of it just fell apart. The plastic housing just split in two at the point where it attaches to the headset. I researched online for a way to fix it and I found loads of people have had it break in exactly the same place for no apparent reason. I thought I may therefore be able to get a replacement mic boom as s spare part, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. So it's a great product, I do recommend it (especially at this great price) but buyers should be aware that there is a design flaw with it that may crop up even with careful handling and normal everyday use. I'd always buy this kind of thing from Amazon. I've gotten a refund a few times after having headsets nearly 2 years.

    Amazon £69.97, 7600 for every £5, so 14 sets of 7600 points = 106400
    MS £89.99, 5850 for every £5, so 18 sets of 5859 points = 105300
Frustratingly the last time I looked they were on special offer with IIRC £5 off on the MS store. Ah well always the way I suppose...

I’d love the Starfield one but it’s far too many points to burn through, I’m down to my last 250k now after quite a few big games purchases recently.

I’ve been debating replacing my ancient Astro A10 with one of these for many years now but I don’t know whether to go with the basic cabled Stereo version, no messing about charging it but more importantly I can use it with all of my gaming machines.

I've had this headset 13 months and it just died this week. Seems to be a software issue as it shuts off as soon as it starts up. Microsoft provide a 1 year warranty and have refused to repair with it being just outside that time frame. I wouldn't buy again. Far too many known issues

How much is this on the official Microsoft/Xbox store?...the same price?

Last time I looked think it's about £89

Do you know any good wireless headset with mic that works on xboxSx, ps5 and pc as well?

    Your bests options are probably:
    SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless
    SteelSeries Arctis 7X Wireless
    Astro A20 Wireless

There are others but they are even more £££

My son has / had this headset.
It's outlasted many of the cheaper brands but he took it off a week ago to charge it and the light didn't come on to say it was charging. It's just died on him. He is really careful with his possessions and it hasn't been dropped or mistreated.
He's got a Steel Series Arctis 7x now as a replacement as I wasn't prepared to pay out and the same thing happens again. (edited)

I am going to buy these with MS reward points - I 'll need to work out if it's more cost effective to buy them from the MS store or to convert the reward points to Amazon gift cards...

Would this be suitable for a 7 year old or should I look for something more child size? Thanks in advance.

Just about, I think. The earcups aren't unnecessarily massive like they are on some of the gaming headsets so they'd probably be ok.

Bought 2 of these recently. Really impressed with the quality!

Just wish I bought them sooner instead of all these other cheap headsets which are now useless!
I reckon I've spent more on multiple cheap ones trying to save money (4 are now being thrown away).

Great price, great headset. Heat! (edited)

It is the case with a lot of products - often it’s cheaper to buy a more expensive item as you only need to buy it once. It’s often a lot better in build quality, better sound/functionality, better looking and would be better looked after as it’s costs more. Just better overall experience. (edited)

If you have a mans sized head you might find that this headset is trying to crush your brain as it's very tight.

I ended up the slightly less constricting and far superior sounding Turtle Beach 700 Gen 2 which also has Bluetooth and decent mic monitoring.

Heat for the price though (edited)

Been thinking about getting these for my sons 9th birthday. I usually get him cheapos from b&m the stealth headsets but always a few months down the line the mics will go on them I'm guessing the build quality is a lot better with these ?
