If it's anything like the phones, full of bloat and extra nosey services.

I don't touch Xiaomi stuff. (edited)

If it's anything like their phones, then easy to disable included bloatware and use your own choice of services.

Xiaomi have been around since 2010 in China as they are one of the largest electronics manufacturers. They make unmanned drones, dashcams, air fryers, air conditioning etc...
Their TV line started in 2013 but really only took off in 2018 mainly using LG LCD parts.

From memory they brought their TV line to the UK last year and they are average in line with the cheaper Samsung and LG models but better than the likes of the own brand 'vestel' screens eg Toshiba, Hitachi, Polaroid, JVC, Bush etc... (edited)

That seems very cheap for a HDMI 2.1 tv??

I'll bet it's much better than any similar priced Samsung.

I'll never buy another Samsung TV. Bought one 2 years ago for me mother. Damn thing has developed a faulty panel with horizontal lines.
Out of warranty and out of pocket.
Samsung trade on their name now not the quality (edited)

Is a fire TV software similar to firestick software, insofar as being able to download an eyepeeteevee via downloader and also download a VPN onto it?
    Rhakio's avatar

No it's not. US tells the world Chinese government could force Huawei they do without any proof because it's tech companies can't compete with cheaper competition

Irony is US government DID demand Apple hacks their customers phones so it can access their data. Pot kettle black but you believe the hypocrites (edited)

The Hisense E7hq will do 120hz for gaming if thats what your after... decent for low price under £400 for 50" and I think it has dolby vision which the Samsungs don't. Think it has ALLM and VRR too. (edited)

Couldn't comment on the TV, but all the other Xiaomi stuff I've had (2 phones, 3 smartbands, and a mi pad) really have been top notch hardware wise

    I don't even watch t.v and I want this

Im on my 3rd Xiaomi Poco phone now and i love them
Same spec as the £600-700 phones for a third of the price
I have to say i remember just as much if not more bloatware on my last Samsung phone compared to Xiaomi, its easy enough to remove all the Mi apps if you want
Build quality is superb so i will be interested to see how their TVs stack up against the other budget brands like Hisense and TCL

Set is very like Amazon's own Fire TVs - site and layout input panel is identical.

Xiaomi HQ "sir, he is watching "that" DVD again"
Manager "Thats the 5th time today"

    Yep .
Don't think I'd be doing anything on my TV I'd be worried about anyone knowing about.

At least this TV has something that many TV's don't have in this price bracket, in fact even higher price brackets.

    4 HDMI ports.

Many Samsung TV's have a ridiculous 2 HDMI ports. in this day and age 3 should be minimum.
  16. Drekly's avatar
I feel more excited by this being a Xiaomi TV than I should.

aka. the 2 year landfill brand of telly!
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
Why would it be landfill, you don't have to upgrade?
  21. reggie_gimmix's avatar
IT's a bit... on the chunky side isn't it for a modern TV. It's huge. I thought Hisense were quite FAT but this is even wider (I'm talking depth not width here)
    texaco's avatar
Why are you saying wider then?

How do Xiaomi TVs compare with TCLs? Which is best value?

I've seen a TCL, seems fine, apart from laggy software, which I don't really care about
