Includes the original Play For Today "The Blackstuff" which shows how Yosser Hughes ended up the crackpot he became.

I'd be more inclined to say it shows the events which tipped the poor sod over the edge into bouts of uncontrollable rage!

I asked ChatGPT to update it to 2023.

Title: "Boys From The Black Stuff: Resonance"

    Plot Outline:

    Act 1:

    Introduction:

    • Set in Liverpool, 2023, the story follows four individuals, each from different walks of life, who have been made redundant due to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
    • Meet the characters:
      • Danny, a talented musician struggling to find gigs in a world where AI has taken over the music industry.
      • Sarah, a website developer whose skills are rendered obsolete by AI-driven web development platforms.
      • James, an accomplished author whose novels are overshadowed by AI-generated literature.
      • Alex, a nuclear physicist whose expertise is no longer needed due to AI-driven simulations and data analysis.

It goes on & on & on! (edited)

    Updated to 2023...

Four men from the home counties; an accomplished author, a talented musician, a nuclear physicist & a website developer are thrown on the dole as a result of AI taking their jobs. Watch what they are forced to do to keep Parma ham on the table & pay their children's private school fees...

Some of the best acting you'll ever see. It's a pity that this was Britain at its worst and a sign of what was to come. I actually think it's even worse now.

What a show. It just feels so real for the time period. Yosser's episode is the major highlight. What a performance.

Unfortunately the Green man Pub has well gone, where Shake hands was
Albert Dock has been transformed since this was filmed along with other areas that were shown.
