It looks like a pretty good AC unit that's on sale. I'm mostly going off the brand name more then anything. Current sale on Amazon

For a couple hundred more, you can get Delonghi's PAC EX100, which is the only A++ rated portable Aircon in the UK.

This one is much better than the no name brands that plague HotCHINADeals (edited)

A “no name” brand found here has kept me wonderfully cool during this heatwave and works great!

Voting cold on this one (ironically) because that BTU is pitiful, you can get 10000 or even 12000 around same price range.

    Station of tools isn’t it?

Great price, got one, thanks op. Maybe you can get 12000 at this price , but it is 12000 CTU - ChineseThermalUnit... (edited)

ElectriQ at Appliances Direct or Daewoo at B&Q, same price, much more cooling. I have the ElectriQ, relative has 9000 btu one, difference in performance is night and day, but each to their own, I'm sure this unit will do alright for small to medium rooms.

I've had cheapo brands for years, invested in delonghi one for this summer and it's well worth the extra in my opinion!

My experience is cheap air con is a false economy.

When your air conditioner keeps making jokes

This air conditioner has smaller dimensions than most others. Seems to be designed for people who are using it in a small room, would really value the space saving and don't mind sacrificing some BTU

In that case might as well consider:

I want aircon just not at this price lol only need a month at most a year then have no place to store it

You got to face the reality...
To hire one for a month will cost you close to £400.
This is by comparison quite a bargain.

8000 BTU for 60m³ - a bit ambitious. Probably can get it to 20 degrees or similar on a hot day after many hours? Better to get a more powerful one?

Do you guys not have electricity meters?

The power consumption is not as bad as people make it out to be. On a hot day my 7000BTU model uses ~1KW.
