A True Coffee Shop Experience in Your Home
Kitchen Be your own barista! Use AeroPress to brew different styles of coffee, including drip, espresso, and cold brew style coffee. Use espresso to make lattes, cappuccinos, and other coffee shop favorites right in your own kitchen.

Cold Brew Coffee in Just Two Minutes
Using the AeroPress, you can cut your cold brewing time down to about two minutes with full flavored results! Optimizing the contact between the surface of the coffee grounds and the water with a brisk one minute stir quickly enables delicious flavor extraction from the grounds.

Features

  • Popular with coffee enthusiasts worldwide, the patented AeroPress is a new kind of coffee press that uses a rapid, total immersion brewing process to make smooth, delicious, full flavored coffee without bitterness and with low acidity.
  • Good-bye French Press! The rapid brewing AeroPress avoids the bitterness and high acidity created by the long steep time required by the French press. Plus, the AeroPress paper Microfilter eliminates grit and means clean up takes seconds.
  • Makes 1 to 3 cups of American coffee per pressing in about a minute, and unlike a French press, it can also brew espresso style coffee for use in lattes, cappuccinos and other espresso based drinks.
  • Perfect for home kitchen use, the AeroPress is lightweight, compact, portable and durable, making it also ideal for traveling, camping, backpacking, boating and more!
  • Includes the AeroPress press, funnel, scoop, stirrer, 350 microfilters and a filter holder. Phthalate free and BPA free. Mug not included. Assembled measurements: 9 1/2" h X 4" w X 4" d

    New version coming?

New version is just a copy of the transparent version AND it's going to be 40 quid by comparison AND comes with 260 less filter papers AND the funnel has been removed

In fact I'll need to correct that because the imagine in the gallery for this version doesn't have a funnel either and the photo of the papers doesn't give much away from that angle (edited)

Obviously we can’t turn back time but there was a point when these were rocking up under £20 quite frequently.

Cracking piece of kit but I’ve got lazy and use a pod machine now.

Use the inverted method and get yourself some quality Colombian single origin coffee.

    Enjoy

Only ever use the inverted method. My Tassimos been put in the cupboard, think it was last used a year ago, poor thing

It's a very good coffee maker and can make strong coffee but it's not espresso.

Agreed. I wonder why Amazon describe it as such. Aeropress UK and US sites don't make the claim that it can produce espresso...

Ok relative to what? Aeropress gives the best per buck coffee experience possible. I run with an £800 quid grinder with this to make the coffee. Because it outperforms my 600 quid coffee machine in terms of fidelity of taste. This is the best bang for your buck coffee maker out there.

Finally succumbed, I had to find out what the hype was about. Wish I'd bought one sooner. The only thing is bigger than I thought. I always thought the cup in the picture was espresso size, so I built my assumption of size based on that scale.

Pro tip. Swap the rubber plunger for silicon once it starts to degrade

Wow. My 1 cup cafetière does the same job in about 2 minutes max and isn’t made of plastic. Can’t get my head round the benefit of this. Cold for me.

Hmmm, I'd never heard of that before until you mentioned it. I had a look on amazon and it seems like a nice device. Would you say it is for using on the go only? Or would you use it everyday in the kitchen for a morning <insert-coffee-preference>?

I paid £28 for mine some time ago, there have been cheaper offers. It works very well, low maintenance. The range of ground coffees at Aldi are inexpensive and good enough. The science is interesting.

What's the difference between this and a cafetiere other than price
    SirSpanky's avatar

I'm no coffee nerd, but some people say the paper filter gives a less acidic cleaner taste than a wire mesh of a cafetiere. Personally I have one because it's virtually indestructible (being plastic). Great to take camping or travelling, knowing you can just throw it into a bag and doesn't matter if it gets knocked etc. I also smashed a glass cafetiere in the office once which was a bit embarrassing, so replaced it with an aeropress so I didn't repeat myself. I've tried a fair few ways of making coffee and honestly, I do just like the Dolce Gusto machines with Starbucks pods.

What was your method for using the aeropress? Bean, grind size, water ratio, water temperature etc?

Apparently the new one is clear in colour and almost twice the price of this one. Plus less stuff in the box, fewer filter papers, no funnel, no paper holder etc.

The filter papers get me, they're the same price as the regular larger ones. But I like that there's less waste.

My aeropress must be a decade old now... I only really need a new chamber as the plastic has gone bumpy. But given the price of official spares, I may as well get this and with a new plunger too (I don't use the stirrer, scoop, or funnel).

I like to drink a mugful, and it's more of a faff with my 2 x Vietnamese pots (although just as tasty, imo).

This isn't a great deal, it;s the one with 100 filters and no funnel. Other places are selling the better pack for a few more pounds.
