    Best go for this amazon.co.uk/WD_…h=1

No official confirmation 990 Pro issues have been fixed. Reason there isnt an 4TB 990 Pro yet. (edited)

Any recommendations for external caddy to slot this one and get the max speed. Don’t have a pc/laptop only Mac. Just wondering if I can practically get the speeds advertised by any means externally.
Anyone know of a good case to use?

If it's going to stay in the caddy you're much better off getting a cheaper, slower drive.
You'll not get close to the max speeds running externally (well, not at the moment anyway with USB 3.2 gen2).

Are you going to boot from it, or just transferring data? (edited)

I purchased using the link in this thread.

    I received it yesterday.

I scanned the S/N off the side and uploaded the Amazon invoice and claim has been approved.

Good news! Your claim has been approved.
You'll receive your cashback within the next 30 days. As soon as your payment has been processed, we'll email you to let you know.

AS this dropped to £120 on Prime Day, returned this one.

Reviews are very good for pc and laptop upgrades.
Is it overkill for PS5 in terms of speed, or to get cheaper PCIe 4 drive?

Overkill, yes, but I think at this price it's worth getting it.

i think those that have recieved their £50 cashback may have been very lucky as it staes in t&c from amazon uk only and not sarle eu i bought 1 myself but its from amazon sarle eu so its fingers crossed for me good luck tho.

that is not true. I purchased from Amazon as it said Sold and Shipped from Amazon but then on order confirmation email it states from Amazon EU Sarl.

The claim has been submitted and approved and recently got an email from Samsung that they haven’t forgotten just a lot of claims to process and mine will be done soon.

As long as yours has been approved you should be getting it the cashback within 30 days from approval even if it means on the 30th day. Its just a matter of patience at this point.

Even after cashback it's not a 'fantastic' deal.
There have been drives with similar real world performance for less recently (and you can still pick up the ADATA S70 Blade for £95).

Decent deal, so is worthy of some heat, just don't get carried away, lol.

It takes about a month to get cashback in case of returns etc. My claim was approved instantly and have had confirmation emails to let me know that I will receive it before month end

Good drive, had it since it came out, upgraded firmware a few times since on PC and all good. Don’t let non technical people stress you out. Moving GB’s of data from a 980 pro to this takes seconds it’s amazing . (edited)

Damn the 4Tb is some 3rd party seller via Amazon and wont get cashback, so will just plump for this today

If I got this for my PS5 would I need to buy a heat sink or something for it or could I pop it straight in?

I believe this one needs a heatsink, maybe others know more.

Hi. The drive is currently available from a marketplace seller, but not directly from Amazon. Can you still get the cashback if it's bought from a marketplace seller on Amazon? The seller is "kayz goods". amazon.co.uk/Sam…h=1 (edited)
