TOYOTA YARIS CROSS ESTATE 1.5 Hybrid Icon 5dr CVT

The Yaris Cross isn’t the fastest small SUV out there, but its hybrid technology makes it one of the most efficient. Besides, the electric motor does make the Yaris Cross quick off the line and the engine has enough grunt to accelerate you up to motorway speeds, albeit with plenty of accompanying noise. Unlike many rivals, Toyota offers the option of four-wheel drive on the top trims

I know that Toyota is usually reliable, however I'm a bit unsure about the length of warranty. Wasn't Toyota warranty 5 years?

10 years or 100k warranty whichever comes first as long as you get it serviced at Toyota as per the service schedule. (which will be annual or 10k miles I think)

It's the best warranty in the business, because Toyota believe they won't have to pay out on it. And they're right.

So what's the electric only range on these?
    gg1pl's avatar
    gg1pl
Less than a mile as electric only is from stop starts and travelling up to 30mph

Not slightly better MPG, Toyota are real hybrid engines which get diesel MPG with petrol, not pointless mild hybrids in Fords/BMWs

You can get around 55mpg. My Corolla gets 60mpg, upto 90mpg if I drive like a slug which I do when I don't want to get to the mother in law's quickly (edited)

These cars can do up to 77 mpg if not thrashed yes petrol engine runs but is backed up by an electric battery hence the great mileage. People knock Toyotas and Hydrid cars but most have never owned or driven one.

People are obsessed with German cars, paying a premium for prestige but no longer with once famous German build quality, especially BMWs

People who moan loudest about petrol prices also drive low MPG cars. It's like buying a Lambo then crying about high insurance costs

I am looking to change car, but the car prices are really high - is it worth waiting a bit of time for it to fall or they are unlikely to fall? I am using a really old piece, 2007, so either a used one (but not more than 5 years old) or a new one.

Always buy a used car if you want to save money.

Would u guys choose this Yaris Cross? Or Rav4 or Honda CRV?? Thanks

RAV4 and CRV significantly bigger and more expensive. Depends on your budget and what you need. (edited)

    Estate? How?

They called it that to justify the ugly back end and SUV proportions. Don't see the point of bigging up a supermini, just buy a bigger car.

I'm sure people buy SUVs primarily because they can't parallel park and think the car is capable of going off road, so should withstand being bumped up a kerb on a daily basis. (edited)

For less money you get huge ev battery, lots more power, less fire risk, lower maintenance.... basicallt all the benefits of an ev over hybrid. Bye bye hybrids

That's never gonna be £22,900 when/if it launches here, it will be more than the price of this Yaris Cross. Just look at the MG4. (edited)
