The summary of Haier was very mixed. Excellent spec for the money but most certainly not the same level of quality control as more premium brands.
With all brands, if you look hard enough you will find horror stories for all of them, but Haier has more than it's fair share.
It's a Chinese brand. The consensus was that they have improved a lot in recent years. But while almost everyone was looking at 10 years service for premium brands, there were quite a few saying they had issues with Haier after a year or too.
The reason I think this is a good deal.is it's Costco! Any issues and they'll sort it, no quibbles.

i chose this machine because it is A rated for washing, spinning, and noise. also it has some good reviews on the web (although every other model/brand has a mixture of good and bad reviews). it has a 2 year warranty but even though other machines have 5 or even 7 year warranty, i do want something that lasts longer than that, so i've chosen this LG because it doesn't have a welded drum and so the bearings are replaceable (current/ex washing machine has died because of bearings failure and welded drum would set me back about £300 including delivery, never mind the time and hassle to fit it). in future i want a washing machine that i can purchase replacement parts for and repair myself, i certainly don't mind doing that.
i went for amazon as the vendor because it was a good price (amazon warehouse, £464) and free delivery (next working day). i think there is also potential free returns within 90 days but hopefully not wanting to return it because i am tired of having 20 tabs open on chrome and they're all washing machines also i was able to mess about with buying amazon gift cards and have essentially got about 5% off the list price which is a little bonus.
i did also consider a bosch machine from amazon, it was a bit cheaper at £400 (another A rated 9kg machine) with 5 year warranty and a free years worth of Persil lol, but again the welded drum was a deal breaker for me just because i'm so peed off at how my current one has died
