I'd give the £662 'acceptable' condition a go if you're after this. If in bad shape, return for refund. Had a few acceptables inc a laptop I got today in brand new condition, just nasty box. Laptop itself and accessories new inside.

I bought.one from Backmarket in January, not via hukd deal, just a random buy. £560, very good condition (came like new) and it had the 512GB storage. Not seen a better deal on hukd since. (edited)

Silver and Space Grey now at £739.09

I received my refund email this morning.

this is faster than m2 basic model due to m2 use cheap ssd.
    happenstance's avatar
No. It has faster SSD transfer speeds. But it's pretty irrelevant unless you're moving around 100s of GB every day.

Is AppleCare+ worth getting for this?
    BlackAdam's avatar
I think good house and contents insurance is better

One of the few deals I’d vote hot on for prime day, not much different with past prime days.
Was interested in the 20% off warehouse deals the past few days and got some brilliant deals. They upped it to 30% for prime members, and also removed like everything lol. Highest price item in computers and accessories is £600. Was £4k just a day ago!

Still paying monthly for my M1 purchase earlier in the year and I love the laptop, does everything I need when thrown at it, even runs windows 11 under parallels rather well if needed.

A laptop well worth the asking price, a lot cheaper than the m2 model (and looks better imo, the wedge shape design is much better than apple's newer slab shapes.) (edited)
    BlackAdam's avatar
You can run windows on m1?

    Lowest recorded price 🔥

    It’s possible to upgrade ram?
    t0n1b's avatar
You can't. All the hardware, including the ram, is solderd to the logic board. Its the trade-off for having really thin laptops. 8gb ram is enough, though, to do most everyday tasks, but will struggle if, say for instance, you want to edit video.

Not really confident to buy from Amazon afrer reading some reviews
    Myriad's avatar
It has 3000+ reviews with average of 5 stars, not sure what you're looking at. Hard to go wrong with items sold by Amazon directly.

They'll never give as much value as this again! this was great in 2020 and still is today at 220 off it's launch price.
    goody's avatar
why do you say this ?
  11. futura's avatar
How long before they do an iOS update specifically to slow it down and make you think it's too old and that you need to buy a new one (even though it's perfectly fine).

Exactly why I wouldn't buy Apple (edited)
    SavvyShopper's avatar
They wouldn’t be able to slow this down with an iOS update.

The best value laptop on the market by far. I bit the bullet a few months ago debating between the m2 and this one. Apple was so far ahead with m1 in 2020 that it's still one of the best laptops today. Great price.
  13. maltloaf_df's avatar
I've been hunting for a deal on this MacBook for a few days, almost paid £820 yesterday! This will do nicely. Ordered.
  14. Jules.Tohpipi's avatar
Bought this 6 months after it came out. A sensational laptop. It remains sensational today. I have zero interest in changing it. It’s even faster and better now with the macOS upgrades compared the original Big Sur releases.

So speaks a long-term ThinkPad fan boy.
    Hari_'s avatar
Same here! I hope Apple doesn’t deliberately slow it down to promote M2s,M3s etc.
  15. DingoDirk's avatar
I wish it was possible to buy 16GB models from somewhere other than Apple.
    Sandmannn's avatar
    Same here.

what colour is everyone buying ......is the screen bright?
    Diab's avatar
I have the silver, the screen at max brightness hurts my eyes so I keep it at half if that's a good indication for you.
  17. Mohammed_Isa's avatar
Is it worth getting this over a MacBook Pro with the M1 Chip that had the touch pad?
    Diab's avatar
Main difference with the pro model is really just the fan cooling and I think the screen can do 120hz with slightly better deep blacks, otherwise performance wise they are 99% equal. I could be wrong maybe the GPU core is higher but they are very similar in use.
  18. deleted2664824's avatar
Bettertouchtool is a must with the touchbar if anyone's hesitating. Eliminates the awkward volume and brightness buttons and replaces it with a simple two/three finger swipe.

I'm using the aquatouch preset, can't fault it. Has a persistent ui for music which is great too. Going to miss the touchbar once I upgrade :/ (edited)
    m_undersingh's avatar
The air doesn’t have a touchbar only the pro

Should I opt for 16GB ram if I'm going to edit 4k video casually once or twice a week?
    umirza85's avatar
Wouldn't bother if casually at this price
  20. Jason_Philip's avatar
Thanks, ordered. Seems like a great deal for this price, and makes it hard to justify buying a used one.

    8GB RAM?! (edited)
    ramas1's avatar
Its the ram thats 8gb, ssd is 256gb
  22. Cavs's avatar
Hot, I would still get this over a galaxy book3 pro in some scenarios
  23. PinkFairyDust25's avatar
Are these new or refurb? Some of the reviews have put me off slightly but only odd number of negative ones.
    Myriad's avatar
    New
  24. macleanie's avatar
Trying to order but it is fluctuating in stock giving fake stock numbers.
  25. J1240's avatar
Everyone get theirs safe? My sister ordered one. Received a tray of cleaning products instead of the MacBook today.
    BlackAdam's avatar
Probably mistake, I once’s ordered 2x sets of old spice cosmetics and got 4x (edited)
