still plenty in stock. Bought one 3 years ago. Still going strong. Really good coffee machine. No fancy screens, lights, etc. Just simple make coffee button, workhorse
    Little_Casper's avatar
I bought mine in 2016, had it for 6 years and then gave it to my friend who still uses it daily. It's deffo a good workhorse and parts are cheap too if anything goes wrong.

Just fired mine up, we normally do Aeropress into a contigo with a bit more hours water and milk.
Any tips on which settings to make two people's contigo in one go out should I do it separately

A proper americano or any long drink is usually made by adding hot water to an espresso shot. Does this machine have a separate hot water feed into the cup? Or does it just push more water through the coffee until you have a full cup?
If the former, you're ok to let the machine make a large cup for you. If the latter, I'd work on setting up the machine to make a tasty espresso shot, then add hot water yourself from the kettle. That way you're just diluting a tasty coffee shot, not pushing more water through the ground coffee which will just make it bitter and nasty

There is none available, I can't see £125.36
    silent-watcher's avatar
You're right, there are "none available" because they're £179 and the discount of 30% is applied at the checkout, bringing the price down to £125!

    As mentioned previously...

Can anyone who owns this please advise if its easy to clean? What's the process?

I've "bean" tempted to get a bean to cup but was put off by the assumption that cleaning is a pain in the bum! Thanks in advance
    sashforth's avatar
The day to day cleaning is pretty straightforward. However, every month or so I give mine a more thorough clean which involves removing the infuser and giving it a proper clean.

I am fortunate to live in an area with soft water so descaling the machine has not been a frequent operation but, if you live in a hard water area then that could become a pain.

They had these yesterday in Used Very Good condition for £210 (£147 with the 30% discount) might be worth seeing if they become available again today.
  6. skydr's avatar
Had mine delivered today, but I think there is some mechanical issues so that I can't use it. Makes a loud creaking noise and water does not come out when initiating. The ground coffee also seems to fall inside and nothing comes out. I have followed the instruction manual. Seems like some component is missing or misaligned. Absolutely heartbroken. Anyone has any idea what can I do apart from returning it? (edited)

Just an update. The faulty machine was sent back to Amazon repair centre. They seemed to have sent this to Delonghi service centre, as it was returned back to me in about 10 days by them in their box, seems to be fully functioning now. They seemed to have replaced the faulty pump, red rings x2, impurity filter, safety valve and flow meter. Very pleased with the machine and with the Amazon customer service. Just awesome! (edited)

Just got mine up and running.

I haven't tasted any of the liquid yet, but I'm pretty sure they sent me a Guinness Draught machine instead!

Delivered, no box. Can’t see any scratches and seems to work fine, it’s loud tho. Thanks OP!
  9. stuartw's avatar
Has anyone found out how to adjust water temp? I read a review on Amazon that says "2. Follow and read the manual thoroughly, especially on how to adjust water temp," but the manual only says to run a clean and to heat the cups. Cheers

tips for a hotter coffee: For hotter coffee, you should: •beforedeliveringthecoffee, performarinse cycle by pressing the button. Hot water is delivered from the spout, heating the internal circuits of the appliance and thus raising the coffee temperature. •warmthecupsbyrinsingthemwithhotwater (using the hot water function).
    UberTiger's avatar
I think you hold down the single shot button for a few seconds, then the lower lights come on. Each light represents an increase in temp. Tap the single shot button to cycle through the levels.

Thanks everyone. This is the first time I have posted a deal. Although I use HUKD far too often. Has saved me a lot of time and effort over the years.

Thanks OP, been looking to upgrade from a 9 year old DeLonghi Icona which served me very well until the very end!

    Very good offer!

Ordered! Hoping it’s not in too bad shape, if it is, will just send it back!

Read description people: Its always been used. It will take 30% of price once in Checkout.
  15. ukjoel's avatar
Its not expired - I checked - still loads at £175 and then comes down to £125 on checkout. I wasnt sure what used acceptable really means and scratches over an inch worried me on the description.
    Hoolahoopla's avatar
We bought one (in 2020) which was advertised as having big scratches, but there was only one scratch and it was on the back, so it didn't bother us at all
  16. max-settings's avatar
UKJoel’s correct - there are loads left; people need to read the description more. In the spirit of people not reading just a reminder what ‘used - acceptable’ means:

Cosmetic imperfection(s) 1" or bigger on the front of the item. Large scratches on the top of the item (> 1 in.). Large scratches on the sides of the item (greater than 1 in. x 1 in.). Large scratches on the back of the item (> 1 in.). Missing cleaning solution. Missing manual. Item will come repackaged. Item will come repackaged.

This is an insane price, but It’ll look like it’s literally fallen off the back of a lorry.

These are great machines and, if you get lucky with the condition of the machine, then this will be a bargain buy.

Personally I wouldn't risk anything from Amazon Warehouse rated as Acceptable especially when the condition is described as being with large scratches. But each to his/her own.

I got mine for about £140 from the Delonghi eBay outlet site and it was genuinely immaculate with no scratches or evidence of use. There aren't available at the moment but you can be sure that there will be again soon.
  18. add1ct3dd's avatar
Not sure who set it as expired, but it isn't.
    sashforth's avatar
    Agreed.

There are so many comments on here from people who clearly can't read/have never used Amazon Warehouse. Very frustrating when they then press the expire button. (edited)

Mine working fine now after putting water through the steam device.

If all else fails, read the instructions?

I've been using this for years now and I find it is better with a seperate milk frother as it makes it a lot less hassle, quicker as you froth the milk at the same time. I heat the cup first with boiling water, then at the same time as pressing the double shot button start the frother. By the time it's done, the frother is also done and ends up with a good hot cup of Latte or Cappuccino. Foolproof and consistant every time.

I've tried a lot of type of coffee beans but none are as good as Spiller & Tait Signature Blend Coffee Beans.

Can't find the price £125.36 anywhere
    the__cat's avatar
It will have been the only one available so someone has purchased it already. Now there are only used ones for around £180 so probably better getting a DeLonghi refurb from their flea bay store instead.
  24. feckoffcup's avatar
Amazing price - providing that it looks like it has not been kicked around the Amazon warehouse £125 for a DeLonghi BTC is incredible. There are still 6 or 7 available.

I fancy this, but not sure I have space in the kitchen. This or the Air Frier?!
    add1ct3dd's avatar
    Both.

    That's a bargain.

Always wanted one and at this price I couldn't say no. All descriptions say the same but hopefully won't look too bad. Thanks Op
  31. Carbon9990's avatar
Thanks OP. Wanted one of these for a while so finally biting the bullet.

I've also purchased used - acceptable before, and it's arrived in perfect condition. If it turns up completely destroyed they can just have it back

Had mine for years and apart from one little incident it's been faultless. Just make sure you descale and clean the brewing unit regularly and you'll have no problems.
    MartinT's avatar
Me too. Had mine for about 5 years and use it several times a day. Great machine. Fun to work out your own preferences for strength, grind and amount of water etc.
  33. apulUK's avatar
Got one of these back in 2020. Used from Amazon. It said it was used acceptable, it was still sealed and never used, just the box been bashed up a bit.

It's never had a single problem, despite me not looking after it properly. Absolute bargain here

  35. TesaoGostoso's avatar
There are 2 left, not sure why expired but it will sell out soon
  36. Q123werty's avatar
Always worth getting these from the warehouse, we have had a few for us and family members. Will arrive probably like new, damaged box or small marks on places you can’t see.

Just be aware you will end up drinking more coffee.

    Ordered. Thanks OP

Thanks a million, Op. This is the 2nd one of these I've bagged. 1st one still going strong since 2019. Heat

It's a solid machine. The only thing that broke for me is the steamer lever. £4 for that (edited)
