Serious espresso. Plus auto milk.
Like professional machines, the Bambino Plus can deliver third wave speciality coffee. This is made possible by the 4 keys formula. Delivering barista quality performance using a 54mm stainless steel portafilter with 18 grams of coffee for full flavour and a powerful hands-free automatic steam wand that makes microfoam milk for you ready for latte art. With a proprietary ThermoJet heating system the machine is ready to start in 3 seconds.

This is the Plus model with auto milk frothing and 3 way solenoid which makes it well worth the extra £100 over the standard bambino.

"3 way solenoid valve." An example of something I don't know, I didn't know.

For others like me, here is an explanation.

Overpriced coffee machine from non European manufacturer. If you want proper espresso machine buy Krups. DeLonghi is ok as well.

Coz it was £9 cheaper and HDUK loves a time machine.

Are these any good? My b2c has packed in and wondering if this would be a better option. Is the coffee going to be better?

With this you will need a bean grinder as this is a standalone espresso machine.
There is bit of a learning curve with espresso machines, but this is capable of coffee far better than you get in most high street cafes and even a lot of specialty ones I have been to recently.

If you buy good beans and put in a bit of time to get the "prep" right then you can make great coffee very easily with this machine.

Debating this Vs the Touch (lot more expensive)…. any thoughts?
    apr_1985's avatar
    Different beasts really.
This one you have a lot more control as you are in control of of the amount of coffee you put in, grind size, shot length etc.
however as I have said previously the learning curve is a bit higher to bring it all together.

the touch is a bit more opinionated in that it delivers a fixed amount of coffee and has pre built recipes (although can also create your own) so is quicker to get up and running with.

This one would allow you to upgrade to a better machine or grinder as you dive down the rabbit hole. But if you are not that inclined to chase better then the touch would be perfect.

Used to have the Barista Express, went to filter coffee now thinking of going back again....on these, without the Barista Express pressure gauge, how do you know if the grind/volume of beans is correct?
