For those wondering what the whole thing is with this back and forth about gamer chairs maybe consider watching this....

Bottom line, the vast majority of gaming chairs are junk that will do no ends of damage to your back thanks to terrible support leading to terrible posture. I am recovering from a double disc herniation at the moment. And the past few months have been miserable. My spine may never be right again. I know it is in part due to the fact that I haven't looked after spine. I slumped all my life when I was in a gaming session and I gave up doing serious exercise a good few years ago.

People, look after your spine. Invest in a good chair.

This a million times. Thank you.

"Dual 5.1 speakers" is slightly misleading. It has stereo speakers, which support Bluetooth version 5.1. It's does not have a 5.1 speaker system.
    JonReese's avatar
    That's horrendously misleading!

Almost all gaming chairs are tosh and bad for posture

Came here to say this too to hopefully save someone's back/money!

Look at Steelcase or Herman Miller if you're serious about your posture

Gaming chairs are, by design, inherently terrible for their intended purpose. They're modelled on racing seats which are intended to hold you motionless at high speeds - that's the opposite of what you need from a desk chair. Don't reinvent the wheel, buy a good-quality office chair, your spine will thank you.

Do not get a gaming chair. They do not last, they are not comfortable for extended periods of time. The vast majority of gaming chairs priced between £100-£300 all use the exact same parts with different branding.

Gaming chairs frequently suffer from failed gas struts and poor foam support. Bucket seats are tremendously uncomfortable. The "lumbar support" is a joke, mostly an awkward set of pillows.

At this price point, an office chair would be infinitely better and long-lasting. Ideally though, please spend a bit more for a used Herman Miller or Steelcase. Both the Aeron and Leap v2 are very good chairs with 12-year warranties.

This would be peeling soon enough advise against something like this and look for a full grain leather chair which will last much longer. Some of these chairs are just a false economy and destined for the dump after a relatively short period.

What is the difference between a gaming chair and a normal chair for a teen?

Would a referb aeron at double the price be a better buy?
    Solee's avatar
A gaming chair is bad for posture and just for looks.
A normal office chair is more more ergonomic and far more comfortable.

By getting a Gaming chair you are improving your aim and k/d ratio automatically.
    bmehboob's avatar
so if i buy more than one, will my aim and k/d ratio improve accordingly?

Despite the hate, there is nothing wrong with the good, well made and designs racing chairs you get from the likes of DX Racer, Secret Labs etc. Most of them make good office chairs when you used them "correctly" (with the head rest, lumbar support etc)...but awful if you just curl up in them sitting awkwardly like most people do.

That said however, this kind of cheap copy is going to be terrible. I have made the mistake before from the same brand - and what you'll find is its good for a couple of months, and then starts to fall apart. Typically the gas lift goes first, and then the padding will go before it finally falls apart.

A good quality office chair is usually going to be a better buy - but if someone really wants a "gaming" chair (and there isn't anything wrong with that imo) just get a genuine one directly from the likes of Secret Labs.

Yep just get a Secret Lab. If you cant afford one brand new then you get 2nd hand ones for not much more that this. I paid £200 for a used one and 2 years later is still perfect. I had a chair like the one above and it fell apart. DO NOT BUY

Does it make them do their Homework ?

I've got this, the aim assist you get from it is off the charts. Went from a 0.6 to a 2.4k/d after about a week of use.

Can anyone tell me is this any good ?
    Dawsy's avatar
I'd guess not for adults. Maybe last a couple of years for teenagers. More of a gimmick than top quality chair that's designed for gaming and longevity.

ho my god just brought one thank you to the op also with my £50 gift card. First time experience went for it due to the very good price.
