Pros are louder on seek than the equivalent Plus (36db vs 29 for 12TB from the spec sheets) but you do get a 5 year warranty with the pros.

I bought two wd red 12tbs + a duo enclosure for £399 back in 2019. Shame that prices haven’t come down more. Appreciate this is for the pro model…

Yeah, I remember buying a 2x10Tb Duo for £333, back when Reds were WD's top line of RAID drives, so £16.66/Tb, before factoring in selling on the enclosure for £50 on eBay. Time machine of course, but it does feel odd that hard drive prices are still strong, given what I'd guess (without any numbers to back it up) reducing demand.

Well, I'm hoping my existing 7-8 year old Reds can hold out for another five years to be able to do that then, lol. I''m certainly not paying this kind of money for mechanical any longer. The less common they become, the more expensive they get. (edited)

Ooo tempting. I ordered to 2x10tb plus drives as well which are on back order but the pros with a bit more storage along with the helium and other benefits are making me consider doing the same

Great price. I would be all over it if it was 14TB. I think there’s potential 10% off when sign up to the newsteller.
