Hey do you get paid for this? Like as a full time job? Only I keep seeing your avatar and it looks like you're posting stuff from the break of dawn til as late as it gets, and I wonder what it's like as a gig? Good pay or is it more of a top up to your main salary in something else?
    Paul1802's avatar
Couldn't care less if he gets paid as long as he keeps on doing what he's doing to be honest. Uncovers some cracking deals.

Just in time as costco refunded me £179.99 for my year an a half old airpods pro Gen 1 who failed on a stuck button
Don't mind a £1 upgrade 😬 testament to the quality of costco's customer service
  3. left_leg1983's avatar
I purchased these from Costco a few weeks back when they were £203 in store, can I contact customer service for the difference? Thank you (edited)
    Jagmanx1's avatar
I believe you have 90 days within which to ‘no quibble’ return them

Any good with an android phone
    Mr_Chondo's avatar
Not worth buying these if you want to exclusively use them with Android, since a lot of the advanced features are ios/iPhone specific (such as spatial audio).
  5. tom6195's avatar
    Anybody had shipment notice yet?
    tom6195's avatar
They better not cancel orders after I've already sold my gen1s

Please Mr Switch, no more offers like this. Go on holiday.
I used to live in a 10 bedroom mansion with servants and a fleet of Bentleys. Now, directly as a result of your posts, I’m now living in a dilapidated shed, surrounded by a load of great priced electrical stuff.
It’s too much to resist and I’m only human.

Brilliant timing. Bought to replace AirPods Pr Gen 1. Will sell to CEX for £84. So new AirPods Pro for less than £100
    tom6195's avatar
Let me know how you get on at CEX
  8. Pete95's avatar
Ali express ones with the airoha chipset sound nearly identical, but without very effective noise cancelling. Been using some for over 2 years and work great! Cost about £45.

If you’re thinking of getting an iPhone 15 and want less cables then might be worth waiting until September when both the 15 and the AirPods Pro will likely charge via usb c
    ssalva's avatar
Both AirPods Pro and iPhone can be charged wirelessly, even with the same charger.
  10. tom6195's avatar
I have 1st gens but very tempted to get these. Has anyone ever traded in their 1st gen at cex etc?
    Mr_Chondo's avatar
A lot of CeX stores are reluctant to take airpods due to the number of fakes floating about. If you have the box/receipt that would help, but also if you exchange, check the replacements very carefully.

giving that AO had it for £170 with there membership, this deal isn’t best price..
    ishybon's avatar
True, though I’d argue a Costco membership > AO membership if you don’t already have either one

Sony WH-1000XM4 or AirPod Pro 2nd gen?

I figure Sony’s might sound better, have long battery and product life, be more comfortable for regular wearing at home/office, any thoughts?
    Linson_Dacunha's avatar
The Sony's have better sound and noise cancelling, comfort wise it's Airpods. I have both and tend to use the Sony more
  14. driver8's avatar
    Weird question, but...
Does anyone know if these are the ones that can work effectively as a hearing aid? By boosting external sounds, or something.
  15. Superhoops's avatar
It says £198 after the £18 discount now
    tom6195's avatar
Oh wow so it does. Glad I jumped on this yesterday!

Would you recommend them over pro 1

Does anyone know what the in-store price is.
    NavMeisterM's avatar
I asked this morning and it was £165 + VAT.
  19. cigbunt's avatar
    are they worth the cost?
    tom6195's avatar
I bought my 1st gens for £130 and thought they were well worth it. Said I wouldn't upgrade until the 2nd gens dropped below £200 and now I am waiting for these to be delivered
  20. peckenson.ja's avatar
    Got them they are good

Nice one - have some heat.

For anyone sitting on the fence I recently changed my Gen 1 pods pro for these - £209 on Prime Day @ Amazon.

This is a great price and I have to say the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 particularly in NC is very noticeable.

Also the ability to find them with the beeping case (and surprisingly loud individual buds) is a fantastic feature.

If you’ve been thinking of upgrading from Gen 1 to Gen 2 then it’s is a great price and I’m sure you won’t regret it (edited)
    Sneeks's avatar
Much difference in sound quality between these and Gen 1?
  24. AuthorizedUser1969's avatar
    Heat ☄️
  25. KapA's avatar
Am i missing something with the price point? Ive got sone jabra 75t elites that are half the price, is the sound that much better?
    Chris_G06's avatar
    No.
  26. Ted_Biker's avatar
New Airpods with usb-c charging port incoming and causing a sell-off? Maybe… but this is a great price for excellent audio quality and a decent battery life.

If you have Apple TV, Macbook, iMac, iPad, iPhone then AirPods are an ideal add-on. The seamless swapping between devices depending on what you’re listening to or taking calls on, is brilliant. You pair them with your iPhone then they automatically become available to all your other devices with iCloud signed in.
    KapA's avatar
Thats so good mine are a nightmare to pair/unpair to various devices android windows etc
  27. ArcaneSim's avatar
I’m still not sure why everyone thinks that those are so great. I gave mine away, as I couldn’t stand them. Sound quality not so great in my opinion, ANC also so so.
    Mr_Chondo's avatar
Well, probably for ease of use and convenience if you're tied into the Apple ecosystem. I've had a variety of high end wireless in-ears (such as Astell & Kern, B&O, and Bose) and the airpod pro's just do everything right.
  28. Mr_Chondo's avatar
stock - I find them really comfortable for my ear-shape.

    Do Currys price match Costco?
    glentoranmax's avatar
    50687521-yTWP9.jpg
Nope. In my experience it's very difficult to get Currys to price match at all.
  30. swannyofficial's avatar
Does anyone know if these available in store for this price or just online?
  31. Mr_Chondo's avatar
Fantastic, thank you. I have been after a reasonably priced pair for a few weeks now, almost pulled the trigger last night, so glad I waited.
  32. willd93's avatar
Never used Costco, is it good for online as our nearest is 30 miles away? Assume membership costs
  33. jbarrett17's avatar
    Cheers!

Heat! I placed an order and I bought a membership for the first time on Costco. The payment was debited from my debit card. However, I did not receive an e-mail about my order or membership. Moreover, I cannot log in with my e-mail address and password. The password recovery e-mail can not arrive in my email. Has anyone had a similar experience? (edited)

Anyone know if you can return opened AirPods to John Lewis
    ASHTON955's avatar
I’m sure you can if they randomly drop out, or there is randomly noise. It probably won’t do it if they inspect them
  37. prots's avatar
    This is tempting.

The only reason I'm going to hold off is that I need a new phone and the new iPhone is going to be USB-C, these are expected to be re-released with a USB-C case.
    RythmDivine's avatar
Can't u charge the case wirelessly?
  38. darkspark88's avatar
They seem to auto-pair with my Nintendo Switch well - as long as I'm not actively playing anything on my Apple device.
  39. Sneeks's avatar
I’ve ordered a set to replace my Gen 1 version. The ANC on the set I already own is great so if these are even better then fantastic. I’ll trade to CEX, I can easily prove they are genuine as I have the original box and receipt.
    Mr_Chondo's avatar
I've owned both Gens 1 and 2. The ANC on gen 2 is significantly better, plus the case has a speaker for locating the buds if you lose them. Sound-wise, I'd say Gen 2 is marginally better, but it could be a placebo effect.

Just bought this for gaming - a nice bonus to connect to the lg c2 tv (edited)
    Mr_Chondo's avatar
Not sure what the're like for latency, though, seeing as these aren't dedicated gaming earbuds. You may end up being disappointed...
