Decent deals though i'm not sure what the requirements are to enter China these days are? Would imagine they've opened up their borders fully now right?

    All travellers

British nationals need a visa to enter mainland China, including Hainan Island, but not Hong Kong or Macao. Separate Travel Advice for Hong Kong can be found here.

All visa applicants aged between 14 and 70 inclusive need to make their visa application in person at a Visa Application Centre. As part of the application process, biometric data (scanned fingerprints) has to be provided. The Chinese Visa Application Centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh are operating and details of opening hours are on their respective websites. The Application Centre in Belfast remains closed.

For further information on categories, and the process for submitting forms for those eligible, please visit this page on the Chinese Embassy website.

Biometric data may be checked/collected by the immigration authorities when entering China to register your entry to the country.

Fantastic city, must visit Hangzhou and Suzhou which are about 1hr from Shanghai.

Heres some pics from my previous trip

    Amazing deal

    Anything like this for Japan?

I don't think so, after seeing this offer I had a look at both flights from UK as well as flights / ferry from Shanghai. The direct flights I saw were fairly standard price from UK and transit from Shanghai effectively added on £300 anyway so wasn't really worth it

Not voting either way, but long flight times for such a short break, although the itinerary will surely work for some.

We've never been to China, but if we do journey there at a later date, then we would probably include the visit as part of a wider Far East tour.

15-24th Nov. Gives you time to do Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and maybe Chengdu or Guilin if you're energetic. You'll need a break after that though

Amazing price for a direct flight, even pre 2020 direct flights were never this cheap during November. A week is alright for just Shanghai and Hangzhou as it's nearby. Any other places on top and it's too short.

Just wish the price covered the Christmas/New Year holiday season.

hot, same price / cheaper than cheap tickets 15 years ago

You can get a layover visa (for free) which gives you 4 nights/5 days in china BUT you have to arrive from one country and have onward travel to another. For any Disney buffs it’s great to visit Shanghai Disney. If you can tweak the tickets to have a layover in say France then you are set for a travel visa
    adebisi30's avatar
Is Disney fully open as it will be cold at that point?

I'd say traveling to China is not for the riff raffs and you actually need to be quite well off to do that with the visa application as well as the long flight of 13-22 hour flight ✈️

That's an amazing price. I paid just inder £2k for a return trip last month!

Great price but obviously if British passport will require a visa. So factor in the price for a visa and make sure you get documentation in order. But like others say definitely worth visiting at least once. Very different and lots of different cultures in China.

In regards to the Visa, I took advantage of the 144hr transit without visa option. You will have to travel to another destination after your visit to China and cannot stop over at any other city there even if it's a just a stopover to change flights for a few hours. Should be plenty of cheap flights to other Asian countries, i.e Vietnam, Thailand, HK ect. Definitely worth travelling somewhere else in Asia since you've flown so far away.

I flew from London - Shanghai - Vietnam - Loas and back.

Quite a few restrictions with the 144hr transit without visa though, such as you can only stay within a certain region. Feel free to ask me anything, I did quite a bit of research before I went. (edited)

I’ve been to Shanghai and it’s an amazing city. However November will be cold so make sure to wrap up warm
    CoolGeezer's avatar
I'd avoid July, August and September, way too humid for me November sounds lovely actually

Shanghai is flooded right now, maybe gone by November though!
