Wii U titles inc 2 year warranty - popular titles

Mario Kart 8 - £5

  • Spin Turbo - While racing upside down or on walls, players can bump into other racers or certain course obstacles to get a speed boost. Spin Turbo fundamentally redefines the way that players compete, and makes anti-gravity racing even more exhilarating.
  • New items - Two new items join the fray in Mario Kart 8. First, the Piranha Plant attaches to the front of the player's kart and chomps at other characters, banana peels on the course, and even shells thrown by other characters. Each time the Piranha Plant lunges forward to bite, the player receives a brief boost of speed. The second new item is the Boomerang Flower. After acquiring it, racers can throw a boomerang at opponents to stun them, and its arc allows players to strike multiple opponents with a single toss. The boomerang can be thrown three times, forward or backwards.
  • New courses - Remixed classic courses make a return in Mario Kart 8, with favourites such as Moo Moo Meadows from Mario Kart Wii, Toad's Turnpike from Mario Kart 64, and Donut Plains from Super Mario Kart, among others. The graphics and layout of these courses have been redesigned and reimagined – for example, Toad's Turnpike now allows players to drive up certain walls in anti-gravity mode. The game will include 16 new courses and 16 remixed classic courses.
  • Control scheme - Mario Kart 8 supports a variety of control schemes including the Wii U GamePad, the Wii U Pro Controller, the Wii Wheel, and Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The game can also be played in off-TV mode using just the Wii U GamePad.

Do any of these games require updates? cause I'm sure the servers have shutdown by now

If you softmod the console you can download any updates or DLC on PC.

My son loves Splatoon but he says there's no longer any online play, just offline now.

Sorry if it's a silly question but do these games work on the normal first nintendo wii?

    Unfortunately not. (edited)

£2.95 on postage is enough to put most people off ordering online. Just gone up from £1.95

They really took the Michael putting postage up by £1. Their sales will suffer.

The Wii U was the best console Nintendo made and if Zelda launched on it and not with the Switch it would have had the inventory on the second screen and been a much better game for it. Everything Nintendo has done on the Switch has just been Wii U games, they haven't evolved.

FYI. Zelda, breath of the wild did launch on the wii u,and was ported to switch after.

These are an amazing deal if you have a Wii U lying around. Meanwhile I’m sat scratching my head as to why the Wii version of things like New Super Mario Bros. Are £20 whilst the newer versions are £5-£8 on the Wii U!?

More Demand? The Wii was a successful console.

I'd order the lot if it wasn't for the ridiculous £2.95 postage per item.

One day WiiU games are going to be super scarce due to the lack of sales, and being Nintendo, game collectors will want to make a WiiU collection and the prices will rocket. Not for another decade yet at least but it's worth snapping them up now and putting them away in the attic.

What's the cheapest way to get hold of a Wii U Gamepad?

My daughter stood on hers so I replaced the screen but damaged the touch sensor connect on the motherboard.

    it's in a p6.conector like a ds touch screen
    (4pin zif)

fairly easy to repair for any shop and I'd imagine cheaper than replacing

Never had a Wii u and kinda tempted. Even if it's just for wind waker HD . Best place to get one outside of eBay?

Wii u ruined the switch for me. Still find myself using my wii u much more than the switch.

Same here, I hate the Switch. The kids have used the WiiU for years, a few knocks and dents on the gamepad but working fine. The Switch has been dropped a few times, cracked the screen, we've been through a few controllers all of which have deteriorated to a point where I've had to replace them at a hefty cost. It just seems so poor quality to me.

Is there any reason to buy it now? I have a Wii U but don't plan on using it till the end of the year when I have some time.
