This is a very nice drive. I paid £118.68 for one back in April which was extremely cheap at the time. I'm tempted to get another one to fill the 2nd slot on my motherboard

    I'm running a Ryzen 9 7900 on a GIGABYTE B650M Gaming X AX motherboard...

Would this work in a laptop?

Yes but only if your laptop supports nvme m.2 drives

50757230_1.jpg50757230_1.jpg50757230_1.jpgFor anyone looking back at this thread in the future lol - It works great! A bit faster than my boot 980pro.
I had an issue where the system detected the drive as hardware but i couldn't see it as a local drive - had to use the Disc Management to set the partition and assign the drive letter - this will be obvious to most but it wasn't to me when I installed it lol. I installed the Kingston software but the drive shipped with the latest firmware already. Definitely recommend it when it comes back down to this price (edited)

Hi everyone, do i need to remove the "heat spread sticker" before adding a heat sink on it? thank you.
    Berwhale's avatar
No, the heat spreader is designed to go under the heatsink.

Hot indeed, that's why they could do with a heatsink

I bought the samsung 990 pro 1tb the other day for 70, beginning to regret it with all these deals lately ☹️

Can always return for a refund?

These do benefit from a proper heatsink if you really push the drive (as do all M2 drives), or someone please post a deal for the Fury version with heatsink!

With PCIe Gen 5 drives gradually appearing, Gen 4 prices should continue to drop.
    DOOGLED's avatar
This is the same price as a decent gen 3 drive tho...

Gone up to £97.14 unless I'm missing something

How does this compare to the 990 Pro?

    better than a 990 pro 2tb?

In real world usage, it's highly unlikely that you will notice any difference between any of the drives that hit 7GB/s. Just buy the cheapest (i.e. when a deal like this comes along) and spend the money on something else
