Edit 5th August: A few HUKDers are happy with theirs, see here and here - this is what I received today

Lots and lots on Amazon Warehouse. The one negative I can think of is that it is single-serve, but may be useful to some! Black and Grey colour.

Very Good £18.78 / Like New £19.99

Note that one grading description says it DOESN'T come with the pods, so read the grading before ordering - though, Amazon Warehouse is a law unto itself:4177996_1.jpgOfficial De'Longhi webpage (£54.99 on there): delonghi.com/en-….BG

Note that the ordinary EDG 155 .BG Black/Grey model is £45 (without the free pods): amazon.co.uk/NES…VN6

  • Compact designed machine with six boxes of pods included
  • Easy to use - all you need is the machine, some water and pods
  • Easy to clean - as all the coffee grounds stay in the pods there is no mess, no fuss
  • Adjustable drip tray suitable for all cup sizeable for all cup sizes
  • NOTE - The pack originally included the Dolce Gusto hot chocolate packages but has been swapped for Nesquik for its lower sugar content

Mines arrived this evening, like new condition with all packaging but just no pods

Highly recommended kaffekapslen.co.uk/ for pods (edited)

Which grade option did you order - Like New or Very Good? (as the Like New listing didn't mention anything about pods, or lack of).

Getting £5.99 shipping for the £28 item I tried adding - and they seem to be a foreign site, based in Denmark. Probably better looking closer to home for bargains. (Though, it's not too bad for 160 pods - which makes them around 21p each).

The by amazon option is around 15p per capsule. Though, you'd expect to pay a bit more for Nescafé. The Solimo options are around 12p a pod (also mentioned on the thread I've linked to), if you can use the 10% off voucher and Subscribe & Save.

    It’s a cracking machine.
    I use it daily.
As long as the machine is unused, it’s a decent price.
I got this for £35 with all the coffees a while back, but as a spare, £18.79 is mega cheap.

Mine arrived today. Machine and parts are brand new in sealed bags. Never used. Couldn't be happier. Thanks!

Thanks for the update! Was it Very Good or Like New grade? Any pods? (I know it says "no pods" for most of the gradings - but you never know!).

Wow can’t believe it! Box felt quite heavy and on opening it has the pods included! I bought used very good (and it didn’t mention pods missing).

Thanks so much! I know whenever I’m making coffee using this I will be thinking lousielouiselouiselou…

Woah result! Lucky you! (Hopefully they're in date, going by the comment above - personally I'd still try them either way).

I've ordered one in Very Good grade, (last night) so I'll report back.

The Like New listing didn't say anything about pods missing (went back to order one a few minutes after I posted but I wasn't quick enough! ) but I have the smallest kitchen in the world, and love coffee and thought an extra small machine might just be able to make it onto my worktop A change from cafetieres, anyway.

Edit: Should also point out that I'm pretty sure only one of the Very Good listings said No Pods last night, but looking again they all say it. Not sure if it's late night bleariness (very possible) or Amazon updated some of the gradings later on. Most likely the former, as it was around 1.30am! (edited)

You might be annoyed but earlier today I saw more of the “used good” which didn’t mention “pods missing”!!!!

Maybe worth checking every now and then

I'm 99% sure that as I was compiling this, a few Very Good listings didn't mention missing pods. When I looked later, I couldn't see any...it was very late / early though.

Thanks, though, will keep eyes peeled.

Anyone know if there's a way of just getting a cup of hot/near boiling water out of the machine?

We currently use a Tassimo with a modified pod for this purpose, but wondering if this can do it too.
    iliyan.ivanov's avatar
Yes, the machine should come with it's own pod like accessory that just lets water through. You just choose the option for the largest cup possible and push the level to the hot position. You may have to do this more than once(and wait for the machine to heat up everytime) to get the desired amount of water. I can't be bothered to buy a kettle so I use the machine all the time to make ramen/noodles.

My lord is anyone elses shaking quite violently so the cup is spinning around when it makes the drink?

    Mine looks brand new.

Mine arrived today and defnitely looks like new others than the box being opened to remove the pods.

However the current price from ASDA with the 6x packs of is only £35 which may be a better deal for someone.

I would advise caution as I just got two Like New-s delivered, without pods
    deleted2936900's avatar
Grr I've got 2 coming Saturday. Going straight back if no pods.

They will have to amend the listings if no pods as more and more of these become returned, returned, sent back, no way Jose Amazon Warehouse returns

ps You did exactly what I did didn't you, bought them purely for the pods with the machine thrown in for a couple of quid! (edited)

Thanks for the post ….. ordered one yesterday and it arrived this afternoon. It is brand new, in sealed packaging. No marks or scratches etc. only thing missing was the pods which I can live with. Very happy with my purchase.

What was your condition? What did it say in the description? Thanks

Got mine today, looked unused to me. No pod version. Bought a reusable pod and some amazon coffee and very pleased with the result .
    deleted2936900's avatar
Which reusable pod did you buy if you don't mind me asking? I looked into it ages back but was put off by reviews of leaking pods, misaligned holes etc
  17. jumpinoffthbed's avatar
Looks like all are without pods now

I have this machine and use it most days. It also takes Aldi's and Lidl's compatible capsules which are all nice tasting coffee.

This Lavazza A Modo Mio (White) Amazon Warehouse listing seems to be of a similar ilk - a small capsule machine which has additional capsules, but the Very Good gradings don't include them. Reviews seem to suggest it comes with an EU plug (?).
Very Good, £25.06 (lots in stock)

I love the Modo Mio. I have had a couple of models. My wife got me a snazzier model for my birthday and the old one went to the office where it's still going strong.

    I highly recommend these pods.

I bought one from Tesco for £17 brand new with coupond for loads of boxes of pods (I think 6 boxes direct from Nestle) in 2016, used it for around six months, then gave it to my niece when she left for the uni and bought myself a bean to cup. This is a very good machine though pods are expensive and cheap pods are messy (they burst) or just plain bad-tasting. Original Nestle pods are lovely, specially espresso ones, but quite expensive. Around 50p for a shot of espresso but it would make your day. Life is too short for bad coffee.
    StaceyQ's avatar
The standard Dolce Gusto ones have 16 pods per box and usually cost £4 or often two for £7
The Organic Dolce Gusto / Starbucks Dolce Gusto have only 12 pods per box but the same price/offer.

The Aldi/Lidl ones are ok but I would definitely avoid the Costa ones are they leak/explode.
The own brand Asda ones were fine - I think they were from the same supplier as Aldi.

Not sure where 50p a shot is coming from?

Gotta love amazon warehouse. You really have to read the description well of the item. I almost ended up buying some wireless earbuds a while back but on reading further they wanted the same for the charging case without the actual earbuds as they did with! 😳
    deleted2936900's avatar
The best ones are the ones where the photos and the details don't match at all and you have to take pot luck between a men's pair of shoes and a baby changing mat or similarly weird pairings!

Just waiting on the Amazon capsules arriving!

Oh, and the weird design choice (also hated by some reviewers of the Mini Me) of the red electric cord is a bit jarring, but at least you'll know what's plugged into the wall!

Just noticed something, from watching the Youtube review in the OP. Spot the difference:

Youtube review screenshot, from Tom's Product Reviews:50730816-swJVG.jpgMy photo:50730816-eG1FZ.jpgBoxes are absolutely identical (apart from the colour being slightly different), though the branding has changed, from Krups to De'Longhi. Doubt it makes any difference, but, a bit weird! (There's around 2 years between the Youtube review and this HUKD post). (edited)
    deleted2936900's avatar
I guess they got a better deal with Delonghi Miss Marple

Not just the branding, the colour scheme of the machine has changed (for the better imo) (edited)
  25. jedijacobs's avatar
When it says “used, very good” is this literally a machine someone’s used and decided they don’t want any more?

Not bothered about the “free” coffees or box/packaging, but ideally don’t want a machine that’s damaged or been properly used.
    deleted2936900's avatar
As it's described as very good condition chances are there will barely be a blemish on it. Even their "acceptable" condition items are not used in the true sense, they are customer returns due to change of mind, not suitable etc, sometimes there are accessories missing or minor damage on the acceptable ones but they're all items that have been returned in the 1st 30 days.

I'm using this at the moment. Got the bags but not sent back yet for recycling. Seems a good idea rather than letting them all go to landfill.

I'd recommend waiting and buying when there is a sale on the dolce gusto website for a machine + boxes with capsules. It's usually something like £49 for the machine and 6 or 8 boxes of your choice combo. They do this few times per year, even on amazon(check the price history). These are not exactly super high quality and long lasting machines so it's not something I'd buy second hand.
    deleted2936900's avatar
These aren't second hand in the usual sense though. They are items returned within 30 days, typically unused especially in the case of these. They seem to get returned due to out of date pods, or simply not suitable/change of mind/bought something else.

Honestly I've had 2 and seen 2 others of this exact listing and they've all been immaculate and unused. I also previously bought the manual version with pods and it was the same.
  31. Paddy_o_furniture's avatar
I don't like the ones that don't measure the drink for you. Made that mistake last time I bought one.

Fortunately as pointed out below, this does. (edited)
    bargainhunter22's avatar
If you mean you can change the liquid volume then you can on this model, there is a slider on the top.

You can buy reusable pods for these machines.

I use them daily for espresso.
