Don’t forget the ‘hack’ for the MATCHSPEL

Buy the LÅNESPELARE neck pillow from IKEA (£10) and place it vertically between the space on the mesh on the back of the chair and the metal spine.

This stops the mesh from warping/makes the chair last a lot longer, also stops your back digging into the metal bar.

I have the styrspel and I don't think I would recommend it, although my expectations might be a bit high for the price point.

It's very easy to build, and looks pretty good. And is comfy enough in terms of the seating material and the ventilation when it's warm is nice too.

The adjustability and the 'solidness' of it is where it loses a lot of points for me. The adjustments seem to be in awkward positions. Large gaps between the back angle stops, large gaps on the butt-slider and also it's a bit rocky and knocks around when locked in. It won't go anywhere, just doesn't seem as 'solid' as I'd like when locked in. (edited)

    Anyone recommend any of these?

Markus is not bad. Not great, but decent and good quality. I have 2, fabric and leatherette versions - would recommend fabric one.

£40 delivery fee (4+ days) or £50 (1-3 days) to consider on top of these deals.

Or free delivery to a local collection centre.
They've opened one in Preston which is perfect.

Anyone know if the arms are removable on the MATCHSPEL?

50742843-PSeIt.jpgThey're just held in by bolts so I'd wager yes.

Does anybody know of any alternatives to eBay or FB marketplace to sell an office chair? Have a Matchspel that I'm looking to sell and my location may mean I struggle to shift on those.
Largely been happy with it but looking for a more ergonomic design

Had my Markus for years, great chair...only thing i did was change the casters to lockable ones to stop it rolling .

So clearly IKEA was looking at me placing my order last night, and thought "Yea.... Yea let's launch the sale tomorrow!".

    Can't recommend the HUVUDSPELARE

Mine sat at a weird angle and leant forward. I had to push up with my feet to sit flat. Also it's not very deep from back rest to the edge of the seat

The Markus is a good chair but not really reduced. I've had 2 of the "leather" seated version that they don't seem to do any more and they've lasted well; cant comment on the fabric version's durability.

I can recommend Markus too. I have a fabric one.

I bought a chair that looks similar to the Markus from a rival. And it's awful. And They made it impossible to return. And seem to be running a scam and it cost me £190 sadly. Gave both me and the misses sciatic pains and now sitting in the garage! I heard the Markus is good though. The Hermann chairs at my work are amazing but outside my price range. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Can spend around £200?

    Buy a used Herman chair?

I've got Herman Miller Aeron and Sayl chairs but need a third. Apparently, these Markus chairs are suppsoed to be really good and some people say they are even comparable.

    May get one.

How do you like the Sayl?

I do like the look of the Markus. May have to pop along to ikea to try it out.

I've had the Malkolm for about 10 years now, if not a little longer, so I feel an upgrade is due

Remember 20,000 other bums will have been on it so it will seem comfier than the one you buy

Markus user here. 4 days a week. Perfect chair for the price. Could have more adjustments but then would be priced higher. Headrest is perfect when you’re tired of everyones bs and just want to rest your head for a few minutes.
