The multi-award winning Meaco Fan 1056 Air Circulator is designed to provide you with quiet, cool air wherever you need it whether at home or in the office.

Multi-Award-Winning Fan

The key to this fan is that it moves a lot of air very quietly, something that is recognised by the independent testing conducted by QuietMark and Which?, all of whom have awarded the MeacoFan 1056 their seal of approvals.

This fan can be used on its highest fan speeds to cool a whole room to keep several people comfortable or on a desk or a bedside table to provide individual cooling on the lowest fan speeds.

For more personal cooling the whisper quiet air flow on the low fan speed is perfect for keeping you cool whilst you work, relax, workout or sleep.

Intelligent Cooling

The MeacoFan 1056 also offers a more intelligent approach to cooling with a special ECO mode that automatically adjusts the fan speed for you up or down as the room temperature changes. This ensures that the fan speed is optimised before you start to feel hot and uncomfortable.

The fan can be controlled via the magnetic remote control that sits neatly in the centre of the fan allowing you to select from one of the twelve fan speeds, the side to side or up and down motion and for when you want cool air to help you sleep a Sleep Mode that adjusts the cooling rate so that you don’t wake up feeling too cold in the middle of the night. The display can also be turned on or off depending on whether you like to have a bit of light in your bedroom at night or not.

For Modern Living

As well as offering the level of quality and features that you would expect from an award-winning fan the Meaco 1056 air circulator has also been designed to look elegant and contemporary in the home. It is also easy to move about with it’s faux-leather handle and lightweight.

Advanced DC Fan Motor

The DC fan motor delivers a quieter yet stronger breeze than a standard fan and should provide a longer and more reliable service too. The fan is delivered in 100% recyclable packaging and comes with a two year parts and labour warranty for mainland UK.

Other features

  • Very quiet from just 20dB
  • Strong airflow that reaches over several metres
  • Low power consumption from under 10 watts
  • ECO mode for auto fan speed cooling
  • Sleep Mode for optimised bedroom cool
  • Lightweight at just 3.2kgs
  • Energy rating - A+++

Although it's quiet, it's a really mediocre fan for cooling IMO and also feels, weighs and looks cheap. Not powerful at all and not premium quality either. If you're buying the non-pedestal version and putting it on a desk right next to your face then I'm sure it will be ok for you. If you're buying the pedestal version for a room however then it's beyond dispppointing (they really should have increased the specs of the Pedestal version). As stated in other threads I have a Rowenta VU5670 Turbo Silence Extreme fan which is several years old now and that is massively better than this in every way and way more powerful. This Meaco shifts only 972 cubic feet of air per min on Max compared to that Rowenta which shifts 2,436 cubic feet per min - when I first turned on this Meaco I honestly thought it was some kind of joke on the Max setting and was wondering how to enable the fastest setting and then realised that was the fastest setting which made no sense to me. The newer Rowentas also shift even more than my one does - the newer models shift about 2,825 cubic feet per min, literally 3 times the air flow of this Meaco.

Says on the website it's an "air circulator" rather than a direct cooling fan.
Definitely does the job like cos I'm a sweaty beast from the north that never got used to living down south and this sorts me out a treat.
That Rowenta must be a monster, you doing indoor skydiving training

Just bought, thank you. Got one for my parents last year and it's better in every single way than the Dyson I wasted £350 on for myself.

At least I have 2 fans to choose from now... (edited)

Have one in the bedroom, quiet yet powerful. Wish I had got it last year during the heatwave!

I had it during the heatwave last year. It would’ve made very little difference to you. However good this fan is, there is little any fan could do at 40 degrees.

    Cheaper in costco

£80 online and £78 in store, however membership is required which adds £15 for online purchases and £33.60 for instore ones so not cheaper all together, but more expensive. On John Lewis is actually cheaper because no membership fee is required plus you can purchase discounted gift cards from various places.

Got this from costco. Great fan. Very quiet and extremly powerful.

This deal is posted every 2 weeks at the same price. If its this price every 2 weeks how is it a deal?

Its like SanDisk cards. Pricier than everything else, always the same "deal" every month and always the same comments.

Waiting for the guy that says he has 3 of these and that they're great.

I'm not sure I follow you, I've checked and could not find it for this price at John Lewis 2 weeks ago, not even several months ago. It was available at Argos but eventually sold out. Costco has it as well but membership fee is required which bumps up the price to £100-£117. Where exactly did you see it available every 2 weeks for this price? You fail to consider it was a really bad summer so they're clearing them out everywhere. So once John Lewis is sold out, it's done till next year. Same as Argos, same as Costco. And next year, you won't be buying them for £82.50, unless it's at the end of summer and they're no inflation to consider also (I highly doubt it). So several stores had it because they're clearing out summer stock. If you take the time to read the comments here and in previous deals (Argos/Costco), you'll notice many people mentioning they purchased it at the RRP price and found it a good deal. The same can be said if you read the reviews from customers left on retailers. So I'm really confused by your remark. Or maybe you're confused. Comparing a seasonal item with an SD card is foolish. This ain't a Xiaomi deal.

Mine also just arrived today. Upgrading from a Black & Decker BXFD52002GB.

The Meaco is far superior. Quieter, more powerful, better looking, more premium, uses less energy, and yet is available for £2.50 less than the B&D.

It really does seem like a quality bit of kit.

The up down action of air circulators is prone to wear and is diffucult to engineer reliabley.

Before this fan I tried 2 cheaper versions of the Meaco that develoiped a clicking noise on the up down action making them useless as air circulators.
Touch wood, no issue with my 2 Meacos.

If you are after just a fan there are cheaper options than an air circulator.

Bought this on Friday at £99, then saw it was reduced yesterday so phoned JL and they kindly refunded the difference. I also bought the Meaco 12L dehumidifier at the same time. Both have been running now for nearly 24 hours and it’s a winning combination at keeping us cool and drawing moisture from the upstairs of our 40 year old barn conversion where it gets very hot in summer. We also have a Mila air purifier in the same room too - it’s readings have shown a marked improvement in air quality since yesterday. The fan itself is extremely quiet, I had to ask my wife last night if it was still switched on as I couldn’t hear it.

Arrived today - excellent fan and well worth the premium over a standard desk fan
  13. coolstar's avatar
Probably asked a million times but do these have any main advantages over a standard £20 pedestal fan with 3 speed settings?
    butterspinach's avatar
DC motor in this is very quiet and energy efficient. Remote controlled. Vertical and horizontal oscillation.
  14. mark6220's avatar
    That's an expensive fan.
You can get one much cheaper, larger and more effective from ryman etc
    Stephen_petrou's avatar
I guarantee it won't be more effective

    I got one last week.
Wife almost fell over when I told her how much.

When she turned it on she was impressed. Then she realised it had a remote... All good!

I spent 80 quid on a fan. goes up to 12, I kid you not. Because its' so big, it can either be really quiet on its lowest setting or really breezy on full blast. Plus, it's more expensive than a basic fan, I used this as a reason why they should repair it when it broke after 13 months.

edit: Mm, that was it, the reason I bought my fan was that it had a brushless DC motor which is about 3x more efficient at blowing air, meaning my monster fan (well, 18in) uses on 35w (edited)

I have 2, a smaller one in kitchen, this one in the bedroom. It's on now, really is whisper quiet, but powerful.
Bought both about 2 years ago, second one direct from Meaco. Highly recommended.

This or the Proc Elec 12000 BTU portable air con unit at £252 on another hotukdeals thread?
    Renegade211's avatar
This does not actively air condition so it’s an entirely different product. For me, in my hot flat, a portable air conditioning unit is the preferred option but depends on what you need
  32. ChisangaNgoma's avatar
Great fan and circulated the air well. That sad, at the end of the day, it’s still just moving air around.

Best results were with a bottle of frozen water and that did the job.

Don’t think it’ll be of great use this summer, thankfully and disappointedly.
  33. Rexivra's avatar
Great fan, managed to bag one for £65 last week
  34. crabby09's avatar
Decent fan, but wondering if you'll get any value out of it this year now :/
    Pompeylor's avatar
Pack it away for next year. The way things are going we're going to be needing these things more often (sadly).
  35. paulbirkettuk's avatar
    Thanks OP, ordered
  36. 123sonny123's avatar
Sorry for dumb qn: Any videos showing this can cool a room better than a regular fan? I'm not after an AC unit, but can this lower the temp. by, say 2-3deg C? Otherwise I am better off with my regular fan, which happens to have a remote control and is not as ugly as this thing. (edited)
    Guppeth's avatar
No it can't lower the temp at all, that's not what fans do. Only AC can lower the temperature. A fan increases airflow which helps your body cool down (the wind chill factor).
  37. Freebismb's avatar
Thanks!!! Just ordered. Wanted one for a while

This or the Rowenta Turbo Silent fans?
    ZapGod's avatar
Rowenta is 70watts and has no up down action which is essential ina a circulator.
It will cost 3 times as much run as this item on its most powerful setting.

This fan has a DC Motor so modern tech.

    • ULTRA LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION - The MeacoFan 1056 is powered by an energy-efficient, quiet, DC motor, which consumes just 9.5 - 23.5 watts of power. Even at its highest speed this fan costs less than 1p per hour. Comes with a two-year warranty from Meaco. ECO mode will regulate its own performance depending on the room temperature.
  39. Pompeylor's avatar
I got this last year and it is excellent. A total relief during the annual heatwave and also handy for animals too. Not sure how more quiet you can get really because it does a great job during the night. Very quiet, easy enough to set the timer and at least the first three settings are quiet enough to get to sleep. Obviously the higher settings are a bit louder but even during the last heatwave I didn't need to raise its level further than halfway

Anyone kept awake from this baby would be kept awake anyway from the heat.

I paid £20 more for this and still think it was a great bargain. Only improvement needed is a better remote and maybe the ability to see the remote control at night.

Buy it (and no I don't work for them!)
