The 'Ultimate' version is also discounted to £179 from £249.99, which adds a battery and options on amount of horizontal rotation plus a different design.

I decided to try this fan after buying the Meaco pedestal fan from Argos last week. While the Meaco is a fantastic fan, the remote control is terrible (especially at night in a dark room). I wanted something similar but with App control, which this provides at a similar price.

The Duux website is also offering at this price and supposedly includes a free humidifier, but I couldn't get that promotion to work when I tried (I assume because the fan is discounted).

It doesn't really show in the pictures, but this is a horizontal and vertical rotating fan, so an air circulator like the Meaco. It includes a remote control and can be App controlled or through Google/Alexa (though based on reviews, the Alex control is only on/off control, Google is probably similar)

You can change the speed with Google assistant. (edited)

Received mine today. Was simple enough to put together. Early impressions compared to the Meaco are:

    - Noise level is similar, in that it's very quiet at low speeds.

    - Lower speeds are much gentler than the Meaco, which even at the lowest setting is still quite a strong breeze.

    - The panning is quite slow compared to most fans and the Meaco. If you have both vertical and horizontal enabled, it can be quite some time between receiving a direct breeze.

    - The panning is entirely 'dumb'. It just cycles up down side to side in a continuous speed. The Meaco is the same, only it holds for a couple seconds when at the edge of the swing, e.g. holding at the top or bottom of the vertical giving a full sweep across before changing, which I quite like.

    - the control is significantly better than the Meaco. It's still not backlit but you can find the right button without looking

    - WiFi control has already been a bit spotty, requiring a hard restart to work again after it failed to connect to the app an hour after setting up

Update: since restarting after the first setup, WiFi app use has been fine and was easy to set up on multiple devices. Control through Google home is only on/off for me though (edited)

This one is worth a look costco.co.uk/App…465

If you've not got a membership with costco, I dare say it's worth paying for with this deal, then having access to Costco deals for 12 months as well.

Different model number but is there any actual difference between Costco one and one in OP? (edited)

I’ve got this fan. It’s really quiet, to the point where I forget it’s on at night time and I’m a light sleeper.

The wifi is hit or miss though. It sometimes drops off my 2.4ghz only network and I have to re-pair it. Even though it shows as connected , the app can’t control it.
The natural wind mode is cool , it ramps the speed up/down like a windy (edited)

Different model number, not sure in what way it is different though.

This one is the same model and price as the Amazon listing but if you get 10% off with email sign up it will be cheaper:

How does it compare to Meaco though? On my Meaco, the lowest setting is practically inaudible and yet I can still feel a nice breeze 3 meters away. Can this do the same?

Don't have the Meaco but the lowest setting of 26 is very quiet. Going off the limited information online I think the Meaco is noisier. Worst case you can just return it if you don't like it.

I was going to get one a while back. Great reviews. Just too short imo.

With a smart IR blaster It is not impossible to add google/alexa to the meaco but you only get on/off controls but it is possible. You do get more control in the app but voice control is limited.
