Prepare for AMD stuttering and the horrid adrenaline software!

My 3080ti used to crash regularly running 2 screens, not had that issue since moving to amd

You'll be getting 2004 DOOM 3 era Geforce temps with this card. If you care about temperature, and more importantly power efficiency, then ignore this card.

GARBAGE- utter garbage. You can take this card to the SAME efficiency as the 4070 with undervolting and slightly lower clocks.

Ngreedia pays to have shills hit all Internet forums to bad-mouth the competition. It works. We have, as I type, the CEO of Ngreedia lie thru his teeth at the Siggraph conference to shill his over-priced, under-designed pseudo AI junk. AI is like crypto mining, which moved off GPU architecture the moment it became important. Once AI moves to dedicated low cost hardware, Ngreedia is done- and that is going to happen across the next four years.

A total lie. This card, once undervolted with slightly reduced clocks, has the same power efficiency as the 4070. At its default setting, it does much better (performance per watt) than the 3080/3090 cards that the usual suspects told you to buy a year or so back. (edited)

The 7800XT is due any moment now and needs to release at about this price if they are going to sell.

Don't forget the new RX 7900 GRE.... AMD's naming scheme is really baffling.

Turning Off Zero RPM in the AMD tuning options Adrenaline software and tweaking the GPU fan curve made a big difference to the hotspot temps on the 6800 for me...

I was trying pretty hard to find 6900xt for sub 500 and had no luck for weeks. Also didnt wanted to pick up anything which would sound like lawnmower(yes im looking at you msi). I believe thats last of the stock before all 6000 series card go out of stock for 7700 and 7800 launch. I might be wrong.

I think really now 3 years on from release a 6800xt should be nearer £300 rather than nearer £500. On release it was RRP of £530 on AMD direct store and that was 3 years ago nearly. I wouldn’t be happy to pay this much and have 2 years less driver support and no AV1 encode and no RT cores. Better to go for a 6950xt for £550-600 or just go current gen and pick up a 7900XT with 20gb Vram (PS5 Pro rumoured to have 20gb share memory) for £699 (£630 without Starfield code). (edited)

This is due a price drop with the imminent release of the 7800 and 7700 cards
    jamie19916's avatar
Or more likely they will be overpriced and this will stay much the same.

Crazy Heat at this price, Also worth undervolting for minimal perf drop and much lower temps. (edited)

What GPU to get for £500 max? I'm thinking RX6800 around £440.
    I have a:
    ryzen 5 7600x CPU.
    Msi b650 plus wifi motherboard.
    32gb 6000hz Ram.
    Czubaka's avatar
So either this one or MSI 6800 z Trio from what you're saying. This has more performance but 6800 is more power efficient. I fancy the 6800 myself but the MSI won't fit it my case...

Voted hot, however I had to of these one after another that both went back and refunded due to horrific coil wine, I may of just been unlucky…..

I do know Powercolor aren’t what they used to be…..

Considering a USED 3090 costs £200~ more (but does, admittedly have more VRAM and better support for AI and creative workloads), this gets very close to similar perf for a good chunk less moolah. Heat.
