    Not voting either way but:

Be aware that these mice and a lot of other logitech gaming mice have a rather limited life span than most due to the omron switches that Logtech uses in their products.

The most common issue and symptom with failing (or failed) mice with these is a thing known as 'double clicking' where single mouse clicks will register as double clicks. You can google 'Logitech Double Click' or 'Logitech Double Clicking' and you'll find endless of hits about the same issue dating back years. The issue is well documented and Logitech are very aware of it but still choose to use the same switches that dont last very long.

There are guides online and youtube that teach you how to replace switches that is fairly straight forward and easy to do if you have the right tools, but its a bit of faff to have to deal with and having done it. Id rather not bother doing it again and just pick a mouse I know that doesnt come with the rubbish switches. Every major gaming brand would have used or still use the same omron switch so Logitech isnt the only one guilty of building sub par products.

There are a few nerdy tech websites that review gaming mice and do a tear down to see what the manufacturers use to build their mice and these sites are always a handy resource.

    ---

If i had to recommend something for the same money. Id much prefer the newer G502 X mice which use a sort of hybrid optical/laser switch and in theory should last longer and not fall to the double clicking issue but the G502 X is still far too new to know if it suffers from the same issue.

Prices for the G502 X vary but are roughly around the same ball park depending on the version at hand. There are wired and wireless versions and the wireless versions will cost roughly around £20-30 more than the non-wired which should be priced very closely to the older Lightspeed variant listed here.

I have had two logitech mice fall to the double clicking issue so I'll do a more in depth research of something I buy before parting with my cash.

    Your milleage may vary. (edited)

Interesting. My G903 developed this double click thing. I didn't realise it was a common issue. Still usable, but annoying at times.

I think that Razer mostly use optical switches. Don't quote me though. The one I bought definitely does but it's quite high end.

Amazing mouse, I have the newer one & it's no better (dropped coffee on old one, can confirm it doesn't drink coffee)

Keep in mind this model may or may not have the double-click problem, depending on the batch you get, due to Logitech's use of out-of-spec switches meant for wired mice. They have recently switched the switches out for similar model but some still says they're experiencing the issue.

My G305 developed the double-click issue after around two years of ownership of mostly light use. I had to replace the switches myself as it was out of warranty.

The G502 is said to be using the same switches and many others have had the same problem so be warned. My G502 was bought back in May 2022 and still has no issues after daily use for work nearly every day. I'm hoping it lasts me a while longer before I have to replace the switches on these as well. Logitech support have generally got a positive reception to issues occuring within the warranty period, though.

yeah I second this. Just had my G502 for 2 and half years and it has developed double click problem. Logitech support was of no use as it being out of warranty.

Please can you let me know where can I buy the switch from ? so I can try to replace it

Is this usable over bluetooth? (cant seem to see on the page) also is it rechargeable battery or takes AAA/AA batteries, Id prefer replaceable batteries tbh.

Thanks for any help ive been after a new wireless gaming mouse

Edit: Just had a deeper look and it looks like it doesnt have bluetooth and is a rechargeable battery (micro usb connection) (edited)

Fantastic mouse for productivity and gaming. The software is a bit frustrating but once you get it set up the way you like you won't need to go back. I wouldn't want to go back to using a less capable mouse.
Having next/prev tab, back/forward open in new tab, close etc all on the mouse makes productivity stuff so much faster.

I set the settings up, put those settings on my mice's on-board storage, and never touched the program ever since. I still have it installed but it doesn't run at startup so effectively don't even need it installed, really.

I have this mouse paired with a power play mouse pad, very comfortable to use

I just killed mine last week spilling a drink over it, so this is great timing

still a bit pricey. its almost 2x the price of the wired which was on here a few months ago on prime day. I have wired, but need wireless so i'll hold off till this drops a bit.

I have the wired version but would have gone wireless if I was in the market for one.

As others have said its very comfy ... has its own app where you can easily change DPI settings etc

Tempted to purchase as I’m in the market for a wireless mouse, think i may hold out if an MX master 3s discount pops up again though I’m 50/50 any opinions on if this should be chosen over the other ? I assume biggest benefit of this mouse is the 25k Hero sensor/latency speed ?
    SurfX's avatar
I would not really compare those mice as they really are focused at different uses:

    - The MX Master 3c is really nice but it is a productivity focused mouse. I use an lesser MX Master for my work and it is lovely with creative tools.

    - The G502 is a good gaming mouse. I use one of these to game with - mostly RPGs not FPS (though atm on my old Corsair Ironclaw while this arrives to replace the one I spilt a drink over. Good mouse useless battery time and switches fail easily)
