The power of Red Dragon
PowerColor Red Dragon AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT is armed with a triple-fan design, cooler with heat pipes, and a large copper base that improves heat transfer and dissipation from the GPU and the VRAMs providing a highly efficient heat dissipation solution. And it is also equipped with VRM with DrMOS, high-polymer capacitors, and PCI-E connectors for implementing better performance.

Advanced BIOS
The BIOS that fits your need: faster clocks or more balanced overclock with quiet operation.

Stronger MOS, better protection
DrMOS provides superior power efficiency and offers better thermal protection. Red Dragon is armed with stronger components: VRM guarantees better overclocking and stability.

Cooler
Heat pipes efficiently dissipate the heat and make your card cool.

Triple fan
The optimized static pressure fan design provides more airflow and longer circulation.

Glow your Red Dragon
Featuring the red LED, brighten your Red Dragon in the dark.

Two-ball bearing - greater longevity
The cooling fan utilizes two-ball bearing technology, increasing the longevity of the fans.

Silent gaming
The Mute Fan technology intelligently turns off the fan below 60℃, providing silent gaming during medium and low load while reducing power consumption.

Exclusive cooling fan design, advanced cooling solution
The PowerColor Red Dragon RX 6800 XT graphics card uses an exclusive cooling fan design to increase airflow and air pressure, achieving a different level of thermal performance.

Triple-fan cooler - lower temperature, better performance
Red Dragon RX6800XT is equipped with copper heat pipes and an enlarged heatsink surface for providing lower temperature but better performance.

Vertical aluminum fin design
The vertical design and increased array of aluminum fins improve heat spread dramatically. With a massive array of fins, the copper heat pipes can collect heat and dissipate it with maximum efficiency.

Copper base, direct touch
A smooth copper base directly contacts the GPU to enhance exceptional heat transfer, and improves heat dissipation from the VRAMs to keep the card in the optimum cooling condition.

Platinum power kit - DrMOS
Digital controller and super capacitors for improved reliability; superior power efficiency; significantly low power loss; better thermal protection; better overclocking and stability.

Dual BIOS
Choose the mode based on you need. Switching to OC Mode allows you to push the limit of the card; switching to Silent Mode provides excellent quiet gaming experience.

Reinforced back plate
The metal back plate is extremely rigid to strengthen the card to prevent PCB bending, and the hollow area allows heat release to enhance airflow promptly.

Powerhouse performance
AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series graphics cards deliver high frame rates and serious 4K gameplay.

The 7800XT (and 7700XT) are almost here, and in retail, the new, even if a somewhat minor 'improvement', makes the old seem badly dated and hence worth a lot less.

AMD has a planet load of 6800 variant (6800, 6800XT, 6900XT, 6950XT) still in stock. The 'best' is the 6950 heavily underclocked and undervolted, since it has the uncut die. Out-of-the-box, the 6800 is best at performance per watt.

Be warned, you are buying these cards today on the cusp of a general re-adjustment in the price of GPUs 400 - 800 currently.
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
    But -
They are not here, is there a date set yet?
We don't know how they perform.
We don't know how much they will cost or how much of an impact on the 6000 cards they will have.

Yeah, if you already have a half decent card, wait a while.
Some people need/want a card right now. (edited)

What card did replace with RX 6750 XT?

It might be worth using DDU remove and reinstall again

    youtu.be/F8O…Dq0
  7. AdamT1's avatar
I replaced it with this one lol

I tried removing all drivers with DDU and reinstalling and it didn't have any effect.

Basically it's working fine and then it's a sudden big drop in Clock speed and fps. Then it bolts back up to the required clock speed.

One thing I have seen recommended is increasing the min clock frequency? (edited)

EDIT: I was wrong, just called them, they advised i WOULD still get the code for Starfield PREMIUM if i ordered. So i ordered. This is beyond a steal at this price point assuming either a) Starfield is good out the box (press x to doubt) or b) Starfield GETS good (modders to the rescue) (edited)

    499 is CEX. for 6900xt

Buying Bethesda Game on day one in 2023 asks for a psychologist's intervention.
  10. john757's avatar
The 6900XT from CeX is more tempting, even though 2nd hand.

Although this looks super good compared to the 6800 non XT posted earlier.

Honestly can't decide where to stick my money. (edited)
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
The OP mentioned this PowerColor card on that deal (mine), and I said he should post it.
    Giving myself some competition, haha!

If you happen to have any old parts laying around, you can trade them for CeX vouchers to made that 6900 XT even better.

Both are very good cards though.
If playing at 1440p max settings this is a very solid card (that can do some 4K too), at 4k the 6900 XT is a bit more capable (10-15% better usually). (edited)

Bought and if the 7800XT ends up being 6900XT or 6950XT performance for £500 which I very much doubt I'll just return it. Just look at the leaked specs of the 7800XT compared to the the 7900GRE doesn't look promising.

Just like the 7600 then, that was pretty 'meh'.

I picked up a 6750 XT from Amazon three days ago. I decided this though was a fantastic buy so the 6750 XT will be going back.

After Nectar vouchers I picked it up for £447. Starfield included! (edited)

Same, got mine installed and already running, big improvement over the 3070, that 8gb was really hurting the card. Will look at what I can get out of undervolting it.

I still haven't got mine...I messaged them yesterday and apparently they are having problems getting the codes from AMD.

Fingers crossed I'll get mine this evening.

I had this card in 2021. Bare in mind that they whine A LOT.
    yesoccifer's avatar
Zero coil whine on mine, I've read it can be caused by psu's rather than the actual card itself.

    A worthy 1st deal.

I'd not given it much thought although selling it seems like a good option to offset against the cost of the card. I've a EVGA 2070 Super I was going to sell too and I might bundle them together

  28. AdamT1's avatar
So my card arrived today but I do have one biggish problem I seem to get random drops of gpu frequency which results in huge fps drops. Does anyone know a fix for this? I have the latest drivers installed, my bios is updated. I've tried a few possible fixes I've come across doing internet searches such as turning off freesync, altering windows power mode etc

My system isn't overheating as my temps when this occurs are around 52-55c, the gpu isn't maxed out although I am playing Elden Ring which is fairly graphically demanding I suppose.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Anyone returning their card off the back of the 7800xt announcement?
    yesoccifer's avatar
Why would you? 7800XT and 7700XT don't really offer anything apart from AV1 encoding and the new anti-lag+. We'll have to see about exact performance when it gets properly reviewed but looking at the performance slides AMD posted comparing it to the 4070 it's going to be within 5-10% of the 6800XT for the same power draw. (edited)
  32. yesoccifer's avatar
Anyone have any issues with their card? I've had to return mine as it started crashing and artifacting, pretty disappointing as I don't think they have any stock to offer a replacement.
