Vodafone Social Broadband Eligibility

Hi does anyone know if a family member (my child) qualifies for the social tariff as is in receipt of DLA (disability living allowance) if I can sign upto it (account is in my name)?

Iv filled the form out since the 18th August but had no call back from them so iv just filled it out again.

Called customer services who were useless and had no idea.

Google didn't yield any result either.

Thanks

Going by the T&Cs, your child qualifies for the service, but can't sign up for it unless he's 18 or older. I can't see any provision allowing a parent or carer to claim eligibility because someone they're responsible for qualifies.

This is Vodafone though, so it may be a fair bet that the impediment here is their customer service, not their policies. Try a provider which isn't completely terrible, and maybe you'll get more luck. (edited)

I think the eligible person needs to be the bill payer.

Thanks for the replies folks. I had a look at the Ts and C's and didn't find anything but looks like I missed point 7. Let's see what they say... That's if they bother to reply back!
Hopefully they will see sense as the financial implications of having a disabled child is huge... Topic for another day but even things like a trike for a disabled child cost over £1000... out of my budget unfortunately. (edited)

Certain broadband companies offer a discount on broadband if you claim certain benefits. The speed is quite low in most cases. But if you google it you’ll find the info you want

@dent0207 I was told by voda rep that claiming DLA for a dependent *is* a valid criterion for the social broadband tariff. Ditto for UC or WTC/CTC claimants. I had issues getting through to right dept., took about 4 consecutive calls before I got someone who could take my details over the phone. Spent around an hour doing the application with them so not a quick process! My advice would be to persist with phoning them. Good luck 🏻

Thanks for taking time to reply . Will call them in in afew days if I don't get a call back as I just resubmitted the online form they want you to fill out. You don't happen to know the name of the department you eventually spoke to? Thanks
