XFX Radeon RX 6800 16GB SWFT 319 Graphics Card. £369.73 with ebay code TAKE15.

Should also come with Starfield premium.

I was trying to decide between this 6800 and the 6800XT deal posted earlier. From watching a few comparison videos the 6800XT is around 10% faster for £70 more. Decided this was the better deal and also uses less power. Hopefully I made the right choice, should be a huge upgrade from my Nvidia 1060 6GB

Video comparison here (thanks for the link Sarden84).

How do you know it comes with Starfield OP?
    KITTYBOTS's avatar
I asked them and they confirmed.

When do you receive the code for Starfield? I've purchased this but haven't heard anything about it
    Ego's avatar
I've messaged them this morning about this, as I received an 7900 xtx this morning - will let you know what they say

Caved in, thank you very much. Upgrading from a 1070. Will a 750 PSU suffice for this?
    Aretak's avatar
Yes. The 6800 only pulls ~225W, so by modern standards it's fairly tame on that front. Make sure to run two seperate PCIe power cables from your PSU though, rather than using one with two plugs on the end.

How did you obtain your code, had the GPU delivered this morning but not seen any sort of separate email, did I miss the obvious?
  5. qwertqaz94's avatar
Unsure whether to send the 6700XT I bought yesterday for £276 back and to get this instead. It's 34% more expensive, seems like a decent bump in performance though.
    squiddly_diddly's avatar
I am in the same boat.

It's 34% more for, on average, 25% more performance at 1440p high *.

It's a close call. 6700xt does win on price to performance though.

Anyone buy this and get a code? Just messaged them on the ebuyer eBay store to see what the deal is.
    qwertqaz94's avatar
Ordered the 6700XT from them on Friday, messaged yesterday to ask and they just said, "These will be sent via email up to 5 working days after delivery."

A LONG card when in reality the power draw allowed a much more sensible cooling solution. Ngreedia and AMD AIB companies seeking to make their VERY overpriced (at launch) products seem they were worth the money. The belief that one pays per ounce, like it's a gold bar.

Now the cards have much better prices, the stupid over-the-top cooling is a major downer. But if you have the case space, and a yearning to play Starfield (not cos it's gifted, but because you need AMD to run it well), this is a great option.
    umirza85's avatar
FYI starfield already supports DLSS and whatever Intel call theirs via community made mod. So don't really require AMD to "run it well".
  8. chrisstamp's avatar
Got my card today, has anyone heard anything from ebuyer when we will get starfield? (edited)
    jimferno's avatar
The blurb on their website and other listings said codes would be sent within 5 working days.

No need to worry just yet.
  9. Deccydoda's avatar
isn't the 7800XT launching this month at £450?
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
On the 6th, but the 7800 XT is supposed to be around £550 (less in the US, as usual).
The £500 7700 XT is supposed to outperform the 6800, will be interesting to see they actually sell for the expected price and how they affect 6800 prices. (edited)

    Can this play Roblox
    jokerevo's avatar
    not sure
  11. Shads_00's avatar
Is the consensus that the 7800xt will only he a marginal improvement over this? I can't help but feel the 7800xt might last a bit longer before the next upgrade is needed (edited)

review embargo is today so just give it a couple of hours for reviews to be up.

Damn, £70 cheaper than when I used it in a build for a mate end of July . Great deal.

I was all set to get the 6800XT deal posted earlier, originally I was waiting for a 6700 XT deal but then a few cards came up on this deal. The £70 saving swayed my decision, and also uses less power. Been keeping an eye on gfx card deals and not seen a 6800 for a while now. Sure I read somewhere they have stopped production on the 6800 models (not sure if that includes XT).

Was tempted to wait for the 7700XT but I bet that will be around £500 ish, always something better on the horizon.

  15. jimferno's avatar
Finally a reasonable upgrade at my price point. Coming from a 5700XT I will get roughly 70% more grunt and double the VRAM for the same price I paid for the 5700XT.

    Heat & ordered! (edited)
    ToxicHazard's avatar
This is also the first GPU I've considered replacing my 5700XT with, but I think I'm gonna make it last one more year as there is nothing I can't run at the moment great deal though!
  16. Manbatius's avatar
Thanks op, I have been debating 7600, 6700 and occasionally looking up at 6800. Made the decision to go with this deal.

6800 is very impressive, I had it a few months back but had to return it as one of the fans died on it. Really efficient in terms of power and temps compared to some of the other 6000 series cards.
  20. aaron1uk's avatar
I'm going to have to return the 6750 I paid 350 for!
  21. ahmetmikko's avatar
I've just received my starfield code from ebuyer via email. I purchased mine on the 2nd so it's come quickly.
    qwertqaz94's avatar
Same here, activated and downloading now.
  22. winter_zombie's avatar
Just ordered my card , I also phoned ebuyer customer service and they said you defo get the starfield premium edition with the card . So that's a £70+ plus game free . Don't wait around this is definitely the best buy of the year .
  23. BrianButterfield's avatar
They sold too many last generation, they're going to be amazing budget cards going all the way until the next gen of consoles. A bit like if the 1080ti came out at the end of 2013. So glad I sold my 3090 when I did which allowed me to buy the 4090 with profit just a few months later. I think the time to sell the 4090 will be coming up soon, have Nvidia announced when they're announcing new cards yet?
    jimferno's avatar
Nvidia's 5 series cards are expected in 2025.
  24. tonicaek's avatar
Heat added - upgrading from a 1070 and have been waiting on the 6700/6750 to drop after the 7700xt announcement. Caving on this now!
  25. Narrowboy's avatar
Damn, that’s annoying as I got the 6700xt deal a couple of weeks ago. I’d have gone for this
  26. chrisstamp's avatar
Thanks op ordered , upgrading from a 1070ti , a deal i saw on here 5 years ago for a little less than the price of the 6800
  27. John59's avatar
What do you guys think is an acceptable AM4 CPU to not bottleneck this card? I'm looking at 1440p 120Hz max for my monitor. I would like to replace both at the same time.
    RastaMouse2015's avatar
No expert but I think 5700x + . Saw a comparison a while back where the 5600 did struggle a bit pulling the 6800 (when compared against the 5800x3d). Have a check on YouTube I’m sure someone else has compared them (edited)
  28. Bimbojimuk's avatar
Can you download and use Starfield without Steam being involved?
    Aretak's avatar
No. It provides a Steam copy of the game. The only other place the game is available is Microsoft's own store (for purchase or via Game Pass).
  29. anuruddha's avatar
Is this XT version of RX 6800
    jimferno's avatar
No, just the standard RX 6800.
  30. razo's avatar
Love the 6800, I have it paired with a 5700X and a 1440p 165hz monitor and it's perfect. A good thing about the 6800 non-XT, is that the cooler is usually the same as the one manufacturers use on the 6800XT, so it is "overbuilt" for the card's wattage, which makes them run cool and quiet (I don't know about this model specifically, I have the MSI one).

I have a 5700X as well, that was my last mini upgrade from a 3600. My monitor is a 27" curved G-Sync but only 1080P (Acer Predator), will be looking to upgrade to a 1440p next.

Had to upgrade my PSU as well for the 6800 as I wasn't sure if it would be ok or not. Very old PSU (10 years+) but was 650W. The 12V rails are fairly low wattage though as it has 4 seperate 12V rails. Modern PSU tend to be one rail (possibly dual) so way more juice on tap. Went for a Corsair RM850X shift (latest ATX spec and gold tier rated). £128 from Amazon, I always get a good PSU at it saves alot of potential issues.

  32. Czubaka's avatar
Damn good deal! Shame it's so massive. Won't fit in my case (edited)
    ScoTTyBEEE's avatar
My case is pretty much bang on 34 cm which is the same as the card. What I do have though is another cm or two outside the case into a void and a jigsaw . It is called modding after all. (edited)
  33. geko95gek's avatar
You can reduce the power and clocks of any AMD card using adrenaline software, so you should never go by how much a power a graphics card might use at full speed. Not a good metric to choose a GPU by. The 6800XT would be more efficient because it has more TMU and shader units. Even if you downclocked it, it still would have been a better card.

This is a good deal non-the-less though. (edited)
  34. Matty1234's avatar
Gutted, just a bit longer than my case supports, has anyone else seen moore's law is dead video on the 7700xt and 7800xt
    subcon959's avatar
According to his performance graph the 7800xt is only 3% faster than the 6800xt so I would take the "leak" with a grain of salt.
  35. Smugnamehere's avatar
Tfw a case that can only take 32cm graphics cards...there are other models that are 26cm long rather than 34cm. It's a Big boy. (edited)

    How's this compare to a 3060
    T0nyM0ntana's avatar
    Author
Looks to be quite a bit faster...check video below. I know it's a different card but the 3060 is listed in the games tests.
  37. Dazzla's avatar
Picked one of these up as an upgrade from a 1650. I have a NR200P which lists the GPU length as330mm and this is 34cm, but there are a few people on Reddit who have put a 34cm XFX card in a NR200P. Here’s hoping…  (edited)
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
I had to buy a 15mm front fan for my Daughters full ATX Corsair case (can't remember the model, but it's a pretty big case) to get her 6800 to fit, even then the card still had to be squeezen in against the fan.

This is 2cm longer than the ASRock card I got her, I can imagine a few people will have issues getting it to fit. (edited)

I'm about to start building my PC. Can I redeem Starfield in the next few months if I buy this now? I heard it checks to see if you have the gpu installed or something when trying to redeem? Doesn't the starfield offer end on the 30th?
    T0nyM0ntana's avatar
    Author
Not sure tbh. Wondering if you could use a mates pc to check the card is installed. Put the gfx card in mates pc and do the redemption and then log into your steam and activate it. No idea if this would work.... but I "think" it would. (edited)
