Nice one OP. I also notice that the dual version also available with £6 voucher as well. This may be a consideration for some.

Will my laptop even work if I don't have it open?

Perfect as I tend to use a ultrawide screen to work from but always been resigned to having it open on the desk next to me for the use of it...

    Anyone know.

As mentioned above, if it works, it something I didn't know I needed but I deffo do!!

Just have to change the "standby on lid close" power option.

Oh I love the picture of it cooling down your laptop, as the original unibody MacBooks were designed to be open and the fans would not work if closed so it actually heated up the laptop. I’m pretty sure my work surface laptop is the same too. Heat as a great price, but just make sure it ain’t going to heat your own model laptop too much
    deez's avatar
Yeah performance will be poorer on laptops that vent below the screen as they will overheat when kept closed.

anyone tried one of these with a surface pro?

    yup fits fine

Don't forget all the cables, won't look anywhere near as tidy unless you have USB dock with charging.

Also a pain in the backside if you use Windows hello finger print for things.
    svs242's avatar
Using USB C solves that. My Dell monitors have USB C ports - so just the one lead which sends data one way/charge the other way.

Why waste the extra screen on the laptop?
    MRG82's avatar
I use mine to keep my workspace tidy. If I'm editing photos I'll use my laptop open and use my 27in monitor as primary screen. But my setup also doubles as my TV (bedroom) so it keeps everything tidy when I don't need both on the go..

Might run cooler but I like to use the laptop as a 2nd/3rd screen. I just prop it up about 1/2" for better cooling (or get a cooling base). I guess its useful if you just need more desk space?

AliExpress has both single and dual slot for a tad lower and longer shipping but if anyone can wait.

Didn’t know I needed this in my life
  16. gergob's avatar
how can you turn the laptop on and off while its in the stand?
I would keep it next/behind the monitor
    Peew971's avatar
You have to leave it on charge. (edited)

Why is one of the photos showing a keyboard in a vertical mount?

Do people use their keyboards without the keys?
    UzerName's avatar
Was wondering the same. Assuming it's for storage when keyboard not in use?
  20. thegorilla's avatar
Wow these have gone up in price! I have a couple of no brand ones. Can recommend this stand for all sorts of devices.

These are great, but I have to have my laptop a certain way or it makes a buzzing noise haha

I have the double version of this and its excellent quality. Feels like it will last a lifetime. (edited)
  23. dwl99's avatar
Maybe I'm being thick but what is the point of these? Are they just for storage/charging?
    christopherrosenfeld's avatar
Some laptops can run with the USB-C plugged in and you can use the screens, keyboard and mouse via the USB-C port or other means (Bluetooth etc )
  24. greggson's avatar
I think it's expired. I can't see the voucher on my account.

Cheers OP. Went for the dual one instead. £6 off that. Looks to be good quality from the comments here and reviews

Looks nice this but I'm not sure I'd be able to relax with my laptop like that

I hate all these 3rd party accessories, with their massive ugly logos centre stage.

Sorry if it’s a silly ?, I have to remove from the mount to power on the MacBook right, as I switch off my mac everyday but always use it with external monitor thanks
    laytli's avatar
My dock has a power button on it. If you just use a monitor I’d think you’re right you will need to get into the power button. Unless your external keyboard has a power button?
