I bought one of these full price start of the year (it got used in spring!), it makes a loud piercing beep whenever a setting is changed (might annoy other people in the house at night) and it makes a high pitch noise when it's switched off but still on at the plug (really irritated me as I'm autistic), I also didn't like the sound of it (rattled a bit) at the speed I wanted, but ended up keeping it for low speed and turning it off at the plug (defeating the point of the remote) as I'd tried 3 other fans and they were all noisy (including 2 other JL ones, one cheaper which I kept for another room and one more expensive one that got returned). Really wish I'd paid half price but then again I wouldn't have already had a fan for this heat right now!

Yes the high pitched electronic warbling it does when switched off is horrid! Luckily we already had a remote control socket so can switch it off at the plug remotely.

Got one of these and after 6 months it started vibrating. The stand means that any vibrations will pass through the floor too. Oiling it improved things a bit, but not much.

Are they the same price in store?

To answer my own question, yes

You might as well add something for 2.50 to get free c+c rather than paying it for nothing.

This or tower fan? Can anyone please advice? Thanks

Tower fans are much more noisier, IMHO.

Had 2 of these for a couple of years that replaced Meaco pedastal fans that developed faults. These are excellent for the money, shift a load of air and quiet on the lower speeds. I was also glad to save nearly £200 quid after getting refunded for the Meacos.
The biggest downside to these is that the remote isn't overly responsive and needs to be pointing pretty much straight on yo the sensor but in this respect, the Meacos weren't great in that department either.
If I needed a new fan, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

Purchased 4 of these. 2 fans 3 weeks ago and 2 fans last week all 4 at £41.25 then had 25% off

Messaged John Lewis tonight about the new price £27.50 each (50% off) and I am amazed the excellent customer service from John Lewis. Quickly replied and refunded the difference and less than an hour.

Absolutely amazing customer service from John Lewis. Better than any other online retailer I have ever used.

Very Impressed and as a side note the fans are excellent top quality and worth every penny.
Far better than the usual £25 rubbish I have had before

Sitting in front of one now. Bought it a few years ago, and it's excellent - not too noisy, good air flow. Looks good as well. And the IR blaster on my old Mate 20 Pro supports it

Looks like these are made by Pro Breeze, good deal for this!

Best time to buy - stock needing to go to make room for artificial Christmas trees and baubles.

Good deal. Have one already. They are excellent but I paid a lot more than this. Bought another.

Great deal - I have the exact same one from another company (purchased at a much higher price) and it’s been fantastic in the heat… Just bought 2 more! 🔥

Anyone know how this compares to the meaco? Is it just the smart features for the latter?

This one isn’t an air circulator so it doesnt do the up down motion.

Is it just me or is that £2.50 for click and collect?
    Seriously?
Anyone that wants to charge me to pick up my own shizzle can do one. End of. If this is to become a retailer thing, they can jog on. (edited)
