    It depends on what you need it for. Samsung is a better smart watch, Garmin is a better sports tracker. Though this is the lowest model in the range so functionality is limited. (edited)

    This is a great activity tracker and works well, bought it for my brother and he loves it.

    I bought one of these on Prime day, quite pleased with it so far. Excellent for tracking runs as you'd expect. I find the battery lasts just over two weeks, even when tracking two or three activities a week.

    Like the OP, I also upgraded from a TomTom (via an Amazfit which was okay but hard to read in sunlight and had slightly unreliable GPS, both of which the Garmin solves!).
