Tesla had their own 10 year anniversary free day last week. So I doubt it'll be part of this promotion too

Ev residuals so poor now that this freebie won't touch the sides. I expect a u turn on ice to match the eu so 2035 is next for us.

See this posted a lot. Also see the same posters claim that EVs are too expensive and nobody can afford them. I call it Schrödingers EV.

I'm clueless about EV vehicles. How much do you normally pay to recharge in public car parks?

Tesco used to be the cheapest at roughly 30p/kWh but they’ve put it up to 44p near me which is significantly higher than my at home rate.
i’d recommend you use website like zap map and look around your local area.
as a rule though charging at home is usually cheapest but will also generally be slower.

This was a waste of time. EV Cheeger shows no locations in London and Raw charging registration needs £10 load then reveals no decent chargers. 1 hour is nothing in a slow charger and is a waste of time even if free. Lost 10 ponds and 30 minutes I won't get back.

There are quite a few near me that are free in Warrington, but I charge for 10p a kWh at night at home. Bought a cheap Nissan leaf for 6k, 9 years old, runs like a dream and still has all its battery health. Get about 90 miles on a charge and costa about £2 to charge, at the moment the diesel car is costing £80 to fill for a mileage I’d get for £10.

Can’t see how economics are bad, works well as a second car and shoving as many miles on it as possible

I've got free charging, can someone now hook me up with an EV

Having followed the link, they seem to make it almost impossible to find where their charging stations are!

If anyone is near Oxford tomorrow then all chargers at Redbridge Park & Ride OX1 4XG (i.e. 12 x Tesla Superchargers, 10 x Fastned 300kW chargers and 20 x Wenea 22kW chargers) are free.
    rob.newbould's avatar
Forgot the Wenea chargers they’re never working!

Nothing speaks like saving the planet than burning fossil fuels on mass to charge all the EVs

A day to avoid the roads then so i'm not stuck behind queues of pootling range anxious MG's. Used to be a Honda Jazz at the head of a queue, always an MG nowadays (edited)

Wait till the govt realises how much tax money they will be losing without fuel duty. Enjoy your free charging while it lasts
  17. m1kes's avatar
the ez-charge ones seem to be located in Oxfordshire, so maybe worth a punt if that's near you
  18. colliwag's avatar
Beyond raw and ez are any other companies taking part? Tried eletrouniverse and podpoint and neither are showing free charge today. Shame as I’d have loved a bit of free juice. Would have plugged in and wacked the aircon on for an hour
  19. loofer's avatar
    So saving about 7kwh x 20 = £1.40 or there abouts?

Yeah...see my comment above - all blue ones are 22kW MAX chargers. There's only two pink ones in the entire UK which charge above that rate.

    Genuine question, no offence:
How much is a charge for an average car nowadays?? No tesla or porsche
    paul37's avatar
Depends on the car! I have a Kuga which like a lot of hybrids has a “40” mile electric range (lower tax for companies or so I’m im told) this has a 14.4kw battery so the cost to fill it up is 14.4 * whatever the electric costs. I took a look when out and yesterday to see if any good deals on price and the prices were all in the 60 - 80p (one in a local pub is 90p!!!! ) range so around £8 for 40 miles on electric…
However the car does 60mpg on petrol and at around £6 a gallon means unless you can get a decent price on electric when out and about madly it costs less to use petrol!.
Having said that if I charge at home it’s roughly £4 a charge which works out slightly less then petrol at the moment. (Im currently looking for a new electrical tariff for charging as not swapped yet but cost should come down for home charging when I find one that doesn’t mean overall running my electrics during the daytime would negate the savings from charging the car at night..) my rough maths was it was 10p a mile for electric on a home charge and 12p for petrol when I worked it out a few months ago.
I guess that for fully electric cars their range and miles on each charge would be better? I did a google search for a Tesla and it worked at at about 6p a mile on a good home rate or 15p if using one of the chargers above (I’m assuming they get a better rate at the Tesla charger than that though)
Edited for spelling as on phone! (edited)

So is it every charger in the APP, cos prices are coming up as not £0, this is for RAW I'm writing (edited)

I’ve given a minus for this. Good effort from the poster as it’s good in principle but it’s not a great deal as people have pointed out.
