I got a PSVR2 at launch. I’m 53 years old and have been playing video games since the ZX80. I can honestly say the PSVR2 has transformed my hobby. There are loads of games, No Mans Sky recent update is frankly astounding. Red Matter 2 is great. RE Village is fantastic and I don’t really like horror. I love my PSVR2!!!

PSVR II is a great bit of kit, and i paid £499 for the Oculus CV1 way back in 2018, then £399 for the Vive, and they were both money well spent, but the biggest win for the PSVRII is those oled panels, Sony did the right thing going Oled because every LCD vr HMD i have owned sibce have been garbage, as you can never escape that grey haze that lcd puts over everything as well as the washed out colours, i would never buy another LCD vr headset.

    Only £275 to go!

Got burned with the first one, this needs way more games and a bigger discount.

Sony please make this PC compatible so I can justify it. That decision alone would transform my perspective on it.

The Ivry VR project is looking to make that happen. They've overcome the most significant hurdles.

    It’s annoying as the PSVR2 is certainly the best VR experience I’ve had so far but there are two main mis-steps here;

    1) Not finding a way to make it backward compatible with PSVR games ( and, yes, I know there are issues around not having the same sensors etc but they could have provided free upgrades)

    2) Price point is too high to get more people to bite.

If they knock another £75 off i might think about it

They really need to make this headset cheaper to get more sales and add more games. Both of which has been holding me back for past few months buying one.

You and many others. Console users are just NOT used to paying this kind of money for what's still essentially just an accessory. And when they need to sell many millions to ensure developers make games for it, that high price tag becomes an even bigger problem.

It also doesn't help that PCVR has dwindled heavily. With PSVR1, there was some good synergy between console and PCVR in terms of software support. I mean, yea, devs can still port over Quest games to PSVR2, but like, it's very noticeable that these are mobile experiences on a technical level and it can feel like a big step back.

As somebody else said, at £400 this becomes a fair bit more appealing, and I think Sony should do all it can to achieve that ASAP. Cuz losing momentum in terms of developer interest due to small install base can quickly lead to a chicken-and-egg death spiral. (edited)

It's almost worth buying this for GT7 alone.
    saucymonk's avatar
Yeah, GT7 on this is absolutely amazing! And I'm not a fan of the GT game normally.

Sony are just unbelievably greedy. This should be half this price at MOST especially with the massive PSN price hikes

Considering the tech in it (eye-tracking, haptics, OLED HDR), I disagree. You'd have to spend a LOT more to get something like an equivalent PCVR headset.
It's certainly not cheap, but it's not a case of them taking the p.

Tempting but still just gonna wait for Quest 3 for an untethered VR experience. PSVR2 would need to be £300 with a couple of games to get me to bite.

Sony will just ditch this like they do everything else and it just gets put on life support.
    pb-live's avatar
Think you’re getting mixed up with google there?
  12. BiggieBass's avatar
£300 or less for me. Yes I will be waiting awhile or forever 😁

Paid 460 for the headset and controller charge Dock at Very with new customer credit 20% off deal.

Will wait for a big price drop and more games. Great tech, but the ps5 is enough. Better to just buy a switch or series x if you want to play more.
    Banshee22's avatar
unless it's discontinued, there won't be a big price drop for the high-end tech they used inside.OLED etc makes all the difference.
if you want cheap get Quest 2 with mobile phone processor inside and LCD and best case senario xbox 360 graphics. (edited)

Jumped right into the 1st or slight second revision of the first gen (if i remember correctly) and went all in with games and accessories not to mention enthusiasm. Never felt like a worthy investment in entertainment returns. Superhot and Astrobot were impressive. This is the cheapest ive seen the new headset, still way too much for me now. Ive seen the tech is vastly improved which is great, but the cost of this type of hardware still needs to come right down imo, John Carmack leaving META also is pretty telling about the state of VR at its current trajectory. Maybe im wrong. Basically the price should be more accessible to the average curious person to pick up on a whim rather than feeling like a big investment costing more than the console itself. Voted hot for the objective low price.

Picked one up for £300 locally, excellent kit but I can’t use eye tracking due to having nerve damage in my eyes, doesn’t seem to detract from it though, had never played best saber before and it’s fantastic
