The Kanzo Aluminium is an incredibly versatile bike. Mount some mudguards and you have an ideal, sturdy commuter for the most enjoyable ride to work you’ll ever experience. Plus, you can mount some off-road tyres for some fun off the beaten path.

It also features wide tyre clearance and numerous lugs, making it great for bikepacking as well. Head out into nature and enjoy, as it will always support you. The frame’s very pleasant geometry combines comfort and stability.

Chainset is not Apex1 which is actually a good thing. Apex1 has a special bolt pattern meaning that you have limited chainring options - like no 38 for example if you want to do steeper off-road climbs. OTOH the derailleur can work with a 50t Sunrace cassette so you can get a lower gear that way.
Not convinced by the RRP for a cable-braked bike.

    I needed a longer B-screw to run 50T.

Any bike with cable disk brakes would EVER retail at £1800 !!!!

not sure if this is a recommendation youre making but just thought Id point out thats cheap steel and this is cheap alu framed, and last time I looked the PX was £150 more in their sale. Pays your money, takes your choice and all that...

If I was spending that much I would want 700c, 650 tend to sell cheaper as less demand.

I have a Giant Revolt 1, bought for £1500 18 months ago with GRX.

Personally (and I know this goes against what the bike industry want us to believe) I would be quite happy with Tiagra and hydraulic brakes 2x10.

I have taken my hybrid off road tonnes of times with Tiagra and never dropped a chain. I just don't see it being worth the extra for GRX with a clutch mech and certainly not for £1500.

I'd be aiming for £1k. Or knowing me more like £500 second hand but like new. I always regret buying new bikes as they're 3x more than I am able to source them for like new

I wouldn't mind a gravel/hybrid bike, but has to have flat bars. Any recommendations for approx £800?

I recently picked up a boardman hyb 8.8 - with the 25% off from halfords its under £640.

Its a hybrid with flat bars - but if you need to regularly go offroad its probably not suitable. (edited)

Decent for the money. My wife has a winter hack road version of this from Ridley bought when we used to live in NL and it was about the same price 15 years ago for a very similar frame and fork (but with a road appropriate BB drop).

On the old CRC website you used to be able to sort items by newest/discount % etc etc. Now seems all that functionality that has gone which is a real shame.

Yes, I don't know why they got rid of the sort options, I used to like a look for bargains using the highest % discount but can't always be bothered to sift through it all now.

I don't believe the RRP for something with the lowest spec SRAM gravel drive-train. Even my titanium Tempest with Force 1x11 cost £1500.

Planet-X is a budget brand though.

I did see Apex specced bikes being sold around this price at the height of covid when the prices were through the roof, so I think the RRP is a hangover from that. Prices have calmed down now that everyone has surplus stock they're trying to get rid of. (edited)

Looks decent for this money..... the original RRP feels pretty bloody rude though!

Agree, probably £1,000-1,200 feels about right for RRP.

picked this up a few weeks ago, it's a lump of a bike rivalling my voodoo bizango in weight, brakes started squeaking on the first ride also the cable on the front brake needs adjusting as i am hitting the bar with it, still getting used to the gears but im happy enough with it

Gravel bikes seem really popular now, I have a road bike, I have a full suss mtb and a hard tail, why do I need a gravel bike ?

I love going fast off road through the forest on mine. Having fatter tyres than a road bike is amazing.

It seems like the price of this bike has now dropped by £10.
