Great price for a Fender Player Series Strat. Peach have a good reputation also. Hope this helps someone.

The Fender Stratocaster is such an iconic guitar, built for functionality, playability and reliability it has been a firm favourite for over 60 years. The Fender Player Stratocaster is a new line for Fender, building on the success of the Mexican Standard it offers an affordable way for everyone to experience what makes the Strat so special.

The traditional Alder body is typically well balanced and comfortable, as all Strat's are, and with a crisp Black finish it looks real slick. It's super resonant and delivers a bell like high end, punchy mids and robust lows with flawless precision.

The Maple neck features a 9.5" radius for a superb modern playing action without any choking. With a C shape profile, Pau Ferro fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets, it offers a really comfortable playing experience; its equally at home playing big chords or intricate lead work.

A Player Series Alnico 2 Humbucker sits at the bridge while a duo of PS Alnico 5 single coils provide classic Strat spank with a real modern growl. Offering a touch more bite than traditional Strat pickups, the Player Series are crisp and articulate. With a classic 2-point trem you can add some really sweet textures to your sound without compromising tuning stability.

Well-rounded and perfect for a broad range of styles, the Strat is the standard for gigging musicians, with amazing quality and playability they are ready to hit the stage or studio at any time.

Player series? What does that even mean? Do you have to prove your ability before you can buy one?
    freddyfender's avatar
Well some might argue ...not me of course that's it ridiculous and sounds like nonsense to get your draws in a twist about fender calling that range of guitars the player series (edited)

If you want a strat but can't afford a fender. Get this beauty. Amazingly put together for the money.

'Fender' is an oddun'. Back in the day, you'd make the appropriate arrangements with Lucy Ferr ~ and then get a Deluxe Reverb amp and a Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster or Jaguar. Legends were born and, the next generation would want the same gear those legends were using.

Moving on 50 years, Fender pay for profile guitarists to endorse their guitars; artist signature variants are released, Squiers, Players, Player Pluses, Custom Shop, American Specials, Performers, Performer II's...etc

The amps? They look the same from the outside...but Leo Fender would be horrified with what's inside.

The 'Fender' name and logo is iconic and seriously powerful...but the number of artist signature models getting released may (or may not) be indicative it's power is waining.

So in summary ~ yeah, those bargain priced Ibanez's are great value!

NB. Risked £200 on a Harley Benton short scale bass recently and ******* ****; the quality is outstanding. Seriously ~ mindblowingly good.

I remember finding my old fender in the attic and putting it on ebay for £100 cause when I checked the price it came up with Squire and I didn't pay attention to the difference. The guy seemed in such a rush to pick it up from me, turned out it was £600 worth lol.

Under 500 for a mex is decent right now. I had to go SSS for my first Strat, but this looks really nice!

I keep trying to look for negatives on mine, because I was never a massive fan. (Everyone had a strat, so I thought they were boring)

    Converted nowadays though!

Brilliant guitars, whatever anyone says. Get Peach to give it a proper set up and it will be all the guitar you ever need

I would buy this for the kid if it wasn’t such a boring colourway

    the wait goes on.

Pretty much all Fender guitars have boring colours in my opinion (I like the wood to show). The sunburst is of course really nice but is overdone. Honey burst is really nice though!

Got the SSS Buttercream Player Strat from Peach Guitars when it was on here around 12mths ago and it’s a cracking guitar.
I’m seriously considering getting this one as it’s got the humbuker on the bridge and of course I like the black for a change.
Peach Guitars also had mine professionally setup when it arrived.
    brilliant
