Been driving this car since mid June. The price per mile is obviously amazing. Paying around 2p per mile.
The car itself... not a huge fan. Things like the economy takes a sizeable hit when you use cruise control (cruise control doesn't use the regen at all, unlike the speed limiter. But the speed limiter can only be enabled by going through 4 menus on the touchscreen every time you restart the car)
It doesn't remember so many settings. It has no log of charging / driving (I love data so this is disappointing)
It also doesn't remember if you like to drive in eco mode or normal. Like a lot of settings; it doesn't remember and it will reset them when you restart the car.

A lot of the features are very unreliable. Lane keep assist for example. It works maybe 30-40% of the time. The rest it will just let you meander off into other lanes.
Car play on the iPhone seems a bit hit and miss. I've had it just randomly disconnect many times leaving me without until I get to my destination or have to pull over to re enable it because I was using the satnav.

I wouldn't say I was skinny (about 100kg) but the drivers seat has started creaking after just 3 months (2k miles) so I can't say great things about build quality at this point.

That said. The app is much more responsive than the one on my old Nissan leaf and again, economy and £ per miles is great

That's a great review. Thank you

Bit wary of MG. Chap on Youtube sold his Mg4 saying it was poor quality and their after sales service terrible.
Also apparently hard to sell on secondhand and took a big hit on it.

Aren't all secondhand EVs taking a big hit on valuations at the moment?

Something to do with a combination of a large number hitting the market at the same time, an inflated new price at time of purchase due to supply issues and this fact that with salary sacrifice and enhanced BIK treatment it's almost as cheap to buy new as it is used for many people

Just what I read, might be nonsense of course (edited)

I can vouch for that his car we have the exact same and it is beyond my expectations. Lovely to drive long and short journeys, battery last and lasts in eco mode (we did London to Llandudno in one go: 290miles) granted at 55-60mph average.
All in all love it and MG Chiswick are fabulous team - service same day £99. My experience for car and service has been hands down superb

How much range have you managed from your normal road use?

I have a KIA Niro with a 64 kWh battery and I get around 280 in summer days (with Aircon) and around 230 ish in winter.
Heating the car is the biggest drain on the battery from my 1.5 years of EV usage.

My mechanic told me to stay clear of MG,there's no real alternative to petrol or diesel a d I doubt there will ever be one.Cut gree house gases in this country will make very little difference when the US and CHINA are the worst offenders. My diesel car will pull 1.5 tons, the latest hybrid model will only pull 0.75 tons,we not going anywhere in the near future.

Its the localised pollution that's currently the real killer and with this car there is non. But if the car doesn't for fill your requirements then stay clear, there's nowt worst than someone buying sommat that from the start is not correct for em then going on the net moaning about it. LOL

Bought this car last November from New Car Discount for £4000 more. Its the best car i have ever had. Range is great ,Sheffield to Skegvegas and back twice on one charge. Loads of gadgets and useful app. I have always hated driving but this is just a pleasure , and the power leaves boy races in the rear view scratching their heads. Not cheap compared to a combustion engine , but in reality its a division above. NCD are a great company , over the last 25years i have bought 3 new cars from them this been the latest. Never had a problem, pay deposit with credit card for consumer protection then final payment bank transfer day or so before delivery.

What's the 0-60 time and top speed?

Had the previous version of the ZS since early 2020 and no issues at all. Great car. Will run it till it gives up the ghost. If I was looking for a car atm, I would definitely take up this offer. Though I'd weigh it up against the MG4 that not only is well-reviewed but also acknowledged as one of the best value EVs around.

my neighbor has it in silver and it doesn't look good at all. My Peugeot 3008 looks way better and yes, I know, it's not EV. But for many people, design matters.

That’s like saying a hovis loaf looks better than a warburtons loaf.. I mean neither are designed to look amazing they are family SUV’s ! (edited)

You get a lot of spec for the money.

A truly brilliant car for the money

Good deal for a lot of car for the money in the EV market ♨️

It is very funny, how people compare 30k car to a 50k car ? If someone drove a low profile car(dont want to name brands), they are likely to enjoy MG while a traditional Bz or Bw driver is likely to feel the MG as cheap nasty product.

I know it appears to be a decent car but I can’t help think this car is a less stylish rip of the Mazda CX5 shape without the reliability, track record, drive and quality features. And I’m not the first to notice:

Seems really cheap, looking at a similar model second hand 2 years old and it's still 22k. Am I missing something? This must be a much better deal
    newsgroupmonkey's avatar
Na, second hand EVs are apparently tuppence. No-one wants them. They don't sell.
    Drop like flies.

So says Facebook and this place anyway.

Any trade in offers? I have got an old car in very good condition

Doesnt matter if you charge only at home and will never drive ultra long distances but it still sucks that MG still seem to limit max charging speeds a lot compared to even small cars with much smaaller batteries. This charges at 75kw max apparently. Gotta save money somewhere i suppose, cant be too harsh when their prices are cheap

As predicted, here's the first step in pushing the 2030 ICE ban back. Expect more of this as reality replaces fantasy in government policy making...

    newsgroupmonkey's avatar
That's great. They will also hopefully continue the low BIK and ditch the price per mile idea (which everyone will pay, not just EV drivers).

Keep paying for me to stay on the road please ICE drivers. I'm loving the BIK and 2p per mile.
