    A model with 24Gb RAM, 1TB storage & 240W charging
That's far greater than all the 5 smartphones I've ever owned 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥! (edited)

I saw this on giztop a little whiles back, absolutely insane ram 🐏

I was super super tempted by it, heat for 24GB RAM alone

I wonder if it has virtual RAM too known as "RAM Expansion". Since my OPPO has been updated it now allows allocating 12GB of storage as virtual RAM so I can get 24GB, 12 physical + 12 virtual. Waste of time of course because it's not physical RAM but this Realme probably does have that feature as it is also a BBK Electronics product, so I wonder what size virtual RAM it offers just to get even more ridiculous numbers.

I believe the Nubia's RedMagic 8S Pro was the first released phone to get 24GB RAM and that was released a couple months ago. So 2023 is the year of 24GB RAM. Next has to be 32GB.

Here's a screenshot from my phone. Of course I have it enabled, it would be rude not to I actually don't see it make any difference in performance, in fact maybe I get some more lag if the memory isn't managed correctly and uses the storage. Just a guess.

As I thought it most definitely does offer 12GB RAM Expansion (4:25 in this video) >

Isnt 24 gig of ram more than a bloody top gaming pc?

Nice to see something a bit different has come out and not just another generic phone release. Heat for that alone 🔥 (edited)

No good in the UK as it's Chinese hardware with a custom/modified rom slapped on,you need global version
    StevenG1211's avatar
Is a global version available? Sorry I'm not too familiar with these things.

Anyone here purchased a China phone with Google Play installed?

    Pros and cons.
    Paul_f1's avatar
Yh Google wallet/nfc won't work and phone software updates won't work
  16. shumnick's avatar
Unlocked? I really doubt. GT5 is a very new phone.
Just check carefully before you buy as a lot of Realme phones have region lock which does not allow you to use the phone outside Chine.
    haran.miah's avatar
Do you know if this phone would have the region lock?
  17. fishmaster's avatar
Specs look good initially and they are BUT if you're into photography and video this phone has a poor camera setup. So avoid if that's what you want.

So called "Anti-Scam" is built in in every CN phone's system, good luck with that
    haran.miah's avatar
    What does that mean?
  21. haran.miah's avatar
Can someone explain because it says on the listing if you buy the CN version NFC and OTA works fine? Has anyone actually ever purchased the Chineese version i.e. not the global version in the UK? Does it actually work ok?
    haran.miah's avatar
*I mean in general not specific to this phone
