    Great camera.
    Unfortunately, the GoPro Quik app doesn't work recently as it should. Lots of people are having issues with either editing or exporting the footage.

    Just had this very issue. Bought the Hero9 for a trip to the Nurbergring - gots lots of great footage but literally it nearly tipped me over the edge getting it off the phone to edit it due to the size of the video files. Using the quikapp if you had 10gb file and enabled the gps speed overlay in quikapp (which is why i wanted the H9), the export file was 100gb!!. I ending up wiping down an old samsung s20 so it only had gopro quikapp on, connected onto a laptop using Dex and hooking up a 250gb SSD drive to get the files off and then resize them to something I could sensibly keep. It took me a week of my life, and once complete the camera went back to Amazon. They need to bring back the desktop version for ease of editing.

    Good little personal pocket warmer. Use it for 15 mins and it heats up before shutting down (as do most GoPro models before it). App useless,customer service useless but subscribe to cloud for money down the drain.

    I have two GP9’s and I would recommend buying this over 10/11 or 12.

    Yes the software on GP9 isn’t the fastest, but you get used to it tbh. (edited)

    Remember to buy a wrist strap first thing. They're quite heavy for small action cams. I learned the hard way, my first day of using one, on a super wavy day in the sea in Spain, it fell out my hands and fell to the ocean floor. I searched for hours but never saw it again. Yeah I'm stupid.

    Took one of these to Cancun with me this week. Bought a cheap diving case for the scuba diving booked but kept it in it most of the time anyway. Took it dving 12m deep, swimming with turtles, swimming with whale sharks, and other water based things and it's been amazing. Super happy with the footage..did buy the official extended battery though and on the scuba day I needed it!

    Should work well though you'll need a way to connect a mic. The Media Mod will allow you to do that, though there may be cheaper 3rd party adapters.

    I have a GoPro 7, and there is this at £199 and the 11 at £325 that was recently posted.

    Which would be best for me? Would my current batteries and housings fit either the 9 or 11?

    Also useful to have two.

    Alas Hero 7 batteries won't work with the 9 or higher. But the 9 batteries work with the 10 and 11 (and I believe with the pending 12).

    I don't think the difference between the 9 and 11 is massive. Stabilisation will be better but the 9 is very good.

    DJI and Gopro have the same issue. Allows masses of data to be recorded, takes masses of time and effort to process and edit into anything useful. Software lets down phenomenally brilliant hardware.
